Middle fuse in the fuseholder attached to the positive terminal of the battery. It is probably a blue fuse and the cap is marked ALT 100A

Usually blows because someone attached the cables the wrong way round trying to jump start (which is easy to do on the side of a country road in the dark when it's raining) or else put in a new battery and got the terminals the wrong way around (which is pretty hard to do).

Let us know if you find it. If you put a new one in and it blows again, you may have an alternator problem so don't try it again before sorting that out (may even need an alternator).

Testimonial: "Looked at positive terminal, found enclosed bus bar type fuses one of these had blown need to replace, any ideas? thanks for that"

Plenty of parts suppliers online supply that fuse. I could explain how you replace it (you can't just pull it out or you'll probably break it ;) ). However, it's probably best to do a search for a video on YouTube so you can see it done. Let us know if that works and if it doesn't come back with a photo of the fuse in situ.

There should be a 100amp fuse in the main wire coming from the alternator, on the side of the fuse box, or in the box.

Where is the alternator fuse located on a 2002 mazda millenia

The alternator usses two fuses - a 100amp maxi fuse and a 30amp engine injector fuse. You should have battery power on both circuits at the alternator with the key on and the engine not running.

2002 Accord 4cl sedan alternator problems. I got a new alternator, battery charged at full (12.6v), I changed the wire harness and my battery power is draining when I turn on the car. Can someone help me...

There should be a 100amp fuse in the box near the battery for the main circuit between the alternator and battery. The engine computer controls output.
If the fuse has power you may need a shop to check the charging system.

I forgot to disconnect the battery when I went to remove the alternator.

you should more than likely go through all of your fuses and relays with a tester. if they turn out ok start looking for burnt wires

Fuse number 22 keeps blowing after friend jumpstart and blew 100amp fuse

Did he connect the cables wrong? I would have the alternator tested. I've seen bad alternators blow there fuses. If the cables were hooked up backwards, it may have damaged the alternator.

2003 Toyota Camry Alternator Fuze

To change the 100amp Alt fuse you need to get inside the fuse box. To do this remove the battery and then you'll need to remove the air intake to allow you to get to the screws to loosen the fuse box. Once you've removed the fuse you'll need to separate the top from the bottom, this can be done by inserting a small screw driver in the clips located around the outside of the box. Now you need to remove the screw on both the inside and outside which holds the 100amp fuse in place, the screw actually goes through the hole in the connector legs of the fuse. You should be able to see these holes in the legs of the new replacement fuse, so you know where they're located. It may be tricky but can be done, I've done it. Once you get both screws out the old fuse can be removed. Replace the old with the new fuse and reverse the process to replace all parts as before and you should have things running again. I did this with another helper as we were trouble shooting until we figured out that the legs were held by the two screws, one on each leg.
