The fuse is in the smart junction block? What is amp rating of fuse? My thought, for testing, use a new wire for proper wire color with inline fuse at sjb to rear lamp. I looked at wiring diagram, appears to be more than one fuse, don't know which one is blowing, the amp rating would help. I can only help with testing.

Park, Tail and Marker Lamps
The park, tail, and marker lamps, including the license lamps, are turned ON when the headlamp switch is placed in the PARK or HEADLAMP position, or anytime the headlights are requested. The PARK LAMPS fuse in the I/P fuse block supplies battery positive voltage to the PARK LAMP relay switch contacts. The PARK LAMPS fuse in the I/P fuse block also supplies battery positive voltage to the PARK LAMP relay coil. When the park lamps are turned ON, the body control module (BCM) energizes the park lamp relay. Current flow is from the PARK LAMP relay to their respective park and marker lamps and to ground. Ground is provided at G101, G102, G401, and G403.

Headlight switch probably the problem. One circuit is shutting off when the other turns on. If it was a fuse or relay, it would just turn off...

Fuse#23 in the under dash fuse box is for the tail lights, controls license plate lamps and side marker lamps as well.

if you meant brake lamps it's fuse 12 in the under hood fuse block.

You may need a wiring diagram / shop manual to be able to trace the short in the circuit. Could be in the dimmer switch or other places.

Daytime running lamps control module. Fuse #37 - inside the passenger compartment or under hood fuse box ? Do you know how to use a volt meter an wiring diagram to find electrical problems ? The PARK LP fuse in the underhood accessory wiring junction block. When the headlamp switch is placed in the PARK position, battery positive voltage is applied to the park lamp circuit. The parklamp circuit then applies battery positive voltage to the DRL control module and to all the marker, park and tail lamps. The front park lamps are grounded at G101. The rear park lamps are grounded at G302. The license plate lamps are a part of the rear park lamp circuit and are grounded at G302 The inadvertent power control feature prevents the park lights from remaining on more than 10 minutes if left ON. If the park lights are turned ON after the ignition switch has been turned OFF, or is in the ACCY position, they will remain ON until turned OFF or the battery runs dead.

Finding The Source Of Electrical Shorts In Your Car

Two possibilities. Water could be splashing up from the road and getting in where it shouldn't and shorting something, blowing the fuse. Or you could have a short in the wiring to the headlamps that is blowing the fuse.

If it makes noise, it's not the fuse. Most likely the discharge nozzles are stopped up. Try blowing compressed air into them from the outside.
