Its prob the cooling fan its located in a housing along with the radiator fan at the front of your engine bay look down when you open the hood . and make sure the fan is spinning run the ac on high and wait ( do this while the car is running of course ) . do not run your ac if the fan isnt working . you will burn up the compressor . the noise and vibrations you feel are from the compressor turning on and off.
now if the fan is working its prob the compressor. if all else fails take it to a mech where they can test it ... its not pricey and its quick

2012 Vw jetta 2.5 only 13k miles has vibration between 45 to 75 mph. Only happens when car is warmed up. car also wanders during and exhaust gets loud. worse when ac is on.what could be causing this?

the car should still be under warranty from time and mileage so have the problem checked by a service section under warranty
vibration could be from failing cv joints, misfire and any number of other things the loud exhaust may be a failed flexible section on the end of the manifold before the cat converter.

My 2001 Escort, 70k runs great but a definate vibration at the steering wheel. I notice it more when cold andwhen it warms up it is not as bad but still noticable vibration at the steering wheel. ...

That mechanic wasn't lying. I currently own three of them and I know a lot of people that own them and they all have a rough idle. The engines are internally balanced and they don't have dampeners, so you get the engine vibration transferred to the car and that is what you are feeling.

I hear a loud ratteling noise coming from where

The rattle is likely a loose shield or a bad catalytic converter. As for the loud banging, Have you checked the front U-joints behind the brake rotors. As for the Reverse noise? Auto or stick shift?

My 2001 jetta tdi starts and idles fine, but has no power in acceleration. I replaced the air filter and the mass air flow meter. Problem is not better. What could this be

There is a ****** fuel restriction on the TDI, but I think your vehicle is being starved of fuel. You didn't say if you had replaced he inline filters, if not I can guarentee thats your fault with you vehicle. Our vehicle, that's deisil, never goes below 1/4 of a tank, because it starts to pull the **** out ofe the tank, and that blocks the filters quickly, check them first! Let me know if it
