My keys open the door but wont let me start my car

insert your key into the ignition, try wiggling the steering wheel at the same time trying to turn your key to start. sometimes ignitions lock when the vehicles parked in a bind or on hill or wheels turned hard one way or other. you can also try flipping your key over and inserting it into the switch. it really seems to me that your problems a locked wheel though. if you have some 3in 1 household oil,it would'nt hurt to oil that key.hope this helps, and please let us know. as always, you can repost your question for more input from other experts.thank you for choosing fixya.com

Starting issue with 2009 CRV

When you brought the crv in for service, did you tell them about this problem? If not, TELL THEM NOW!! Keep a log of when this happens (day, time, description of what happens). You need to keep track of this and let the dealer know about the problem now, before the warranty expires. The log of info when having trouble will help them diagnose the problem, and it is MUCH better to have a detailed list than to say, 'oh, it happens sometimes'. So bring the crv back to dealer for another appointment, explain the trouble, and keep on bringing it back until the problem is fixed. This could be a problem with the starter. When you turn the key to start, a gear in the starter advances on a shaft, meshing with the flywheel, and then it cranks the engine over to start the vehicle. It sounds from your description, that the gear is not always advancing on the shaft all the way to the flywheel every time (the gear will just spin quickly, as there would be no resistance because it is not turning the engine over) and the gear will spin quickly, sort of sounding like the engine is turning over fast, when actually it's just the gear spinning. The grinding sound could be the gear clashing (not meshing smoothly) with the flywheel. You definitely have a problem, so don't stop complaining to the dealer until it's fixed.

99 gmc wont start

check electric fuel pump operation ( located in the fuel tank ). Occasionally a fuel pump will burn out when running out of fuel, due to the fact the pump runs DRY for about 30 seconds till the fuel stops flowing out of the injectors, the engine quits, simultainously losing oil pressure which FINALLY shuts off the fuel pump. Sometimes TOO LATE. Hope this helps

2000 Dodge Intrepid Wont Start

first of all, check your code to see what the car computer shows. To do that , insert the key in the ignition and switch it on three time within 2 seconds and the third time live the key in the on position. All the instrument panel lights will lite and the oddometer will display the fault code that may br the cause for your car not starting. goood luck.

Key won't turn in ignition on a 2003 Trailblazer

You are going to laugh at this but it works, believe me, get a hammer or rubber mallet, with your key inserted in the ignition, hit the end of it, not hard to bend the key but just a little wack. A couple of times if you need to, Walla, your key will turn, I have had issues like this with my town and country. I always keep something handy to give the key a wack so the ignition will work.
