Question about Jaguar Cars & Trucks
If you recently installed an aftermarket deck, or had somebody else install it then i'd check to make sure its been wired correctly. sounds to me like the wire for the ign. switch got crossed with the constant power circuit.... if this isn't the case can you give me any more info about the events leading up to the point where this began happening (recent work done to the vehicle?)

Look under the boot handle near the number plate light and you'll see a hole where you can use your key to open the boot.

unlikely to be immobiliser fault ,so check basics, try a set of jump leads or check battery voltage above 12.5,if the clicking is coming from the starter motor with a fully charged battery then suspect starter motor failure.

I change mine with the bonnet open - this just allows enough room to lift the blades enough to push the clips loose to release the blade carriers.
hope this helps - good luck.
