Generally, the modulator only controls the shift feel. So it's either going to make it shift a little earlier or later. If the fluid is full, then there is most likely an internal pressure problem.

SOURCE: 1992 GMC Suburban not shifting into OD, Transmission Modulator?

The shift down linkage on the carburetor below the gas pedal cable might need to be adjusted to increase the hydraulic pressure on the internal clutch plates in the transmission it shows you how to do that in a car manual.

My 03' yukon 5.3 won't shift from 2nd to 3rd without releasing the accelerator. Any ideas that may be causing the problem. Had trans. Checked, mechanic says trans. Is ok

Vacuum modulator is probably bad. A sticking shift solenoid inside the transmission will do it too. A bad transmission control module will cause it too. Your mechanic wasn't thorough enough when he checked the transmission.

Why wont the transmission not shift into reverse on 1997 GMC pickup

The transmission is shifted by computer through electric solenoids, have you have the system control module (TCM) tested for fault codes, if not do so.

Shift module? Are you talking about a control for the transmission? The Engine computer controls the transmission. What kind of problem do you have? I can likely help.

Could be or the valve body. Make sure you have a vaccum from the manifold to the modulator.

Transmission will not shift out of first gear.

Check the vacuum line going to the shift module on the drivers side of the transmission. If theres a vacuum leak there, the transmission will either shift very hard or not at all.
