2003 pontiac aztek low oil pressure light on and motor knocking

If the engine has the required amount of oil, and you have replaced the sending unit, and the engine is knocking, I would say the oil pump has failed.
Chances are the bearings are damaged enough to require the engine be rebuilt. You won't know for sure until someone takes the oil pan off and checks the bearings.

How do i replace the fuel pressure regulator on a 2002 Pontiac aztek

I'm going to assume you have the common 3.4L V6. Here is a link that might help: 3.4L and 3.1L V6

Remove the fuel pump relay and start your car, or try to. The engine should run until the pressure is down to a safer level. Then remove your fuel filler cap to prevent further pressure buildup. Be careful not to damage the plastic line & rubber vacuum connector to the regulator when you pull it off. A basic metric socket set is needed to remove any bolts (preferably 6-point sockets as 12-point sometimes round the heads of really tight bolts). Lube the o-rings on the new regulator with silicone spray before inserting them. Reinstall the relay. Cycle the key on and off a few times WITHOUT starting the engine to rebuild pressure. Check for leaks, if none you're good to go :)

I have a pontiac aztek that isnt getting oil to the top end of the engine, thinking its the oil pump, need advice

if you have oil pressure you are ok,my guess is the push rods may be plugged up with gunk,if the oil hasent been changed this could happen.

My oil psi be on my 2003 chevy astro awd van

The oil pressure should be 60 to 65 psi when engine started cold and at operating temperature should be 40 to 50 PSI at idle and 45 to 60 at higher RPM's with engine at operating temperature. Low pressure could be a faulty oil pressure sending unit or a bad oil pressure regulator valve. Good luck and hope this helps, and you could always have your oil pressure check manually to ensure a correct pressure reading. If you think it could be the oil pressure relief valve (Sometimes) or the check valve (not very often). One is located inside the oil pump and the other in the adapter on the motor that the filter screws on to. If you also have a problem with the oil pressure being erratic when the motor has been running I would be looking at the valves.

Alight comes on that looks like a pail with a spout on a 2003 malibu with a 3100 engine it gones off at about 2700 rpms

it sounds like your oil pressure light. ( light illuminates red) I would check the oil level in the motor, if o.k. check oil pressure with mechanical gauge at sending unit located on engine. If oil pressure above 18 p.s.i. at idle, suspect faulty sending switch. If pressure low, possible oil pump/regulator, cracked pick-up tube, bad engine bearings.
