The passenger door latch got stuck one day and I managed to get it unstuck. The problem I encountered next was that I got the door closed but it would not stay closed and the latch was not holding. I bought a replacement latch assembly and need to install it in my vehicle. I went to a junk yard to get the latch assembly and mangled the car I took the replacement out of. I can not mangle my vehicle to put it back in so I need to know how to disassemble the rods from the latch assembly and remove it to replace it.
Buy a manual like haynes or chiltons for your model or go online and see if you can find one on download. This is a bit of a fiddly job that requires some experience so find a neighbour who know whats what or home mechanic type but a manual would be a good long term buy for any future faults.
Testimonial: "Thank you for your answer. I just go it fixed and the new one in place. My biggest problem was how to remove the rods going into the main piece. What I did was removed the rivet holding the lock actuator for the electric lock. This allowed the actuator to be removed from the door. I then removed the screws holding the assembly to the door and once i got the assembly to move around the rods came out pretty easy. Then it was just a matter of putting it all back together again and screwing the assembly back to the body. I used a bolt to attach the actuator to the body again since the rivet was no good after I removed it."
