ok its a 2008, MK49 jeep, Patriot
no engine stated.
gas or diesel, or turbo diesel.
if its the VW diesel
it is really 3 cars in one.
Jeep, Mitsubishi and VW.
not a fun job to fix or diagnose, cars like that.
mixed parts...
but gas dirt cheap here, at 50 cents a liter.
so we run nice big V6 here. common on all jeeps.
3.7L petrol.
getting diesel smog clean is problematic. (NOX issues huge)
see the VW law suits. yah. more pain.

so what engines is really really there
down under in Sidney.

Witch engine oil is suitable for a VW Jetta 4?

TWO answers read and follow the Manufacturers Specification. OR Always use ** 15-40 Diesel Rated Oil is ALL gas, natural/propane and diesel Engines! Use Purolator, then WIX, then Manufacturers Filters - NEVER Fram, "special". oil the oil lube shops filters!!! WHY? When flying planes, every 100 hours I remove the filter, cut it open, and INSPECT the filter material for particulate. My Vehicle Engines go for well over 600,000 miles - most other peoples. simply do NOT!

** I use Delo 15-40 in everything - an better one is Shell Rotunda, however too expensive and not needed! In gas engines after 500 miles, the FIRST Time ONLY - Replace the oil AND FILTER - mixed fuels and oils NEVER mix well. Then on gas engines ONLY replace the filter at the "normal" intervals and ADD not change, the oil... On Diesels, due to the extreme compression, you DO change the oil, at "normal" intervals. In gas, NOT diesel engines - you could use Pep Boys and/or Walmart's generic DIESEL GRADE oil - NOT in diesel engines, as from my experience.

AVOID gasohol - unless you like flash rust and oxidation inside your engine AND 30% less fuel mileage - NEVER use WD40 on ANY metal you want to reuse! And do NOT use BP or unknown small time gas stations - as MANY "top off their fuels" with other octanes - which LOWERS the octane - do to "covalent bonding of carbon molecules" Example: a 50/50 mix of 100 octane with 90 = closer to 80 NOT "in the middle". Can you mix engine oil

Hi Marsha, Many people mix brands of oil specified for either petrol engines and the same is true for oils specified for diesel engines if topping up, but it's not a good idea....It is a very bad idea to use an oil specified for one type of engine in the other. I would suggest never mixing oil manufactured for a diesel engine in a petrol engine or visa versa. The reason is that the diesel engine is dirtier than a petrol engine and manufactures of oil formulate it to have more cleaning chemicals than that used in petrol engines....Mixing the two can result in a build up of sludge which can actually block the lubrication system of the engine causing in some cases severe damage. I would like to know if i can mixed synthetic oil to a regular diesel oil in my car engine..

there is not much of a problem with that. i know lots of people do that. they say it is cheaper, but really it is not very good for the engine to have mixed oils in it. it can mess up the engine and some of the sensors. i would not recommand that you should do that.

I am driving a 2006 KB 250 fleetside, just over 101250km. This is my first diesel vechile and i`m abid worried about my fuel consumption. Done a trip to luderitz recently and used about 38 lts for 390 km...

The injectors have o-rings that will wear and cause fuel leak into engine and cause same smoke problem ,but glow plugs are only for engine firing.........you can change o-rings only but if it has lot of miles i would do injectors...
however make sure the fuel rail isnt leaking at injector connection.also check exhaust for excessive heat or noise inside cat.converter if you can shake it.....some come apart inside.....
it would be worth having the engine scanned to make sure 02 sensors are good..they control air/fuel mix and if oxygen level is incorrect it will burn more fuel and sometimes fuel scent but not very bad.

Whats the standard fuel consumption of mitsubishi gls sport 2o1o,engine is 4d56?I think it drinks very hih in diesel?pls reply,ty!God Bless adrie of phils

Hi,

I just got mine Paj Sport, 4D56, AT, RWD. I drove only 350 km but the consumption is pretty low. On the Highway, 2000 RPM, only 6,7 liter !!!! I guess in the mix (city and highway) it will be around 10-11 liters/100 km.

Driving normal, at 80 kms, car seems to studder a bit, (gas wise) engine light comes on. Stop car, re-start, everything fine, no engine light, at 60 kms, fine, get up to 80 km, engine light comes on and...

First try replacing air filter if not done recently $30, next consider bad fuel put in fuel from major oil company from station with many patrons. Then you need to look at fuel delivery system including fuel filter and furl pump. But first try the 2 things mentioned.

I have a 1994 Subaru Legacy and It has started making a "knocking sound". Cked the oil, it was OK

knocks when cold ( Start ), then sort of diminish or disappears when warming up ???

Knocking goes faster when accelerating when cold ???

If Yes, then Piston knocking on the wall of the cylinder . The sound disappears as the engine is getting warmer it dilates and the gap gets smaller.

If this just started,

1. Put quality oil & filter ( Mobile Full Synthetic Oil & Mobile Oil Filter or Purolator )

2. Do not put cleaning agents mixed with oil.

3. Personaly i've put "Restore" Engine Restorer & Lubricant in cars with more then 200 000 km and the results are amazing. But only "Restore". My Volvo is at close to 300 000 km, and it runs great. It's not a cleaning agent.

By experience if the knocking just started you can put an easy extra 100 000 km on the engine before a rebuilt. Quality Oil & let the engine warm up ( 3 mins ).

Engine oil volume

Exactly 11 quarts of oil. That is a lot ; make sure you replace the oil filter , too, clean the air filter and replace the dieselfilter every 10 K km.
