You will have to ask the question again stating which carby you have and what exactly is the problem as this question is short in making sense.

What battery was fitted to 1982 4.1 Ford Fairmont Ghia sedans

Sorry I can't answer your question and I doubt anyone will remember without wading through the paperwork at the factory.

It is quite possible the original battery is an obsolete type. Motor manufacturers buy in batteries from a variety of suppliers depending on price and availability. Mostly though the batteries will all carry the same label and part numbering system..

The battery performance, capacity and physical size fitted to a particular vehicle will tend to vary depending on the equipment level and where the vehicle is destined to be sent from the factory. Very cold and very hot parts of the world will place greater demands on the battery and so a larger capacity will be specified.

Replacement battery catalogues will list current replacements from a single battery manufacturer and usually at least two will be listed for each vehicle, being an economy option and a premium or over-capacity option.

The old-fashioned term of "heavy duty" is still used but it means nothing today. Heavy duty batteries were fitted with thicker plates. They took longer to charge and the cold start performance lower than standard batteries of the same size. The advantage of the heavy duty battery is the lengthy time it can supply low levels of current.
In the UK the Law required vehicles parked at the roadside to show red light(s) to the rear and white light(s) to the front during the hours of darkness. Heavy duty batteries were ideal for this usage. That Law was changed many years ago.

I hope this helps.

When trying to jump another car the battery terminal smokes

bad connection . Clean the terminals and make sure you have a very good connection between the cables and the battery . A pair of light duty dollar store jumper cables can also cause this . They are just a step above an extension chord and not able to handle the current it requires to cump start a vehicle . Spend the money on a good heavy set of jumpers or build your own by buying some good jumper cable ends from a part store and some heavy duty welding leads .

2007 ram mega cab 1500 is maint different than 2500

The difference in chasis means you can tow more or haul more, the truck is better equiped with a heavy duty suspension componets, heavy duty transmission, etc, Look through your owners manual for service requirments and intervals. If the vehicle has a warrenty make sure the dealer does the service to keep it inline with the warrenty, some things you can do to the vehicle yourself, others must be done at the dealer unless of coarse the vehicle isn't under warrenty.

The batteries are hooked together to give you ample cranking amperage to start a cold engine.A single battery big enough to start the truck by it's self would not fit under the hood.

Abs light on

I'm a Ford service adviser. There are many reasons for the
abs warning indicator to come on. The usual cause is from a
faulty speed sensor. Either a wheel speed sensor or the
differential speed sensor. I don't think the light is related to your vandalism. You might want to take the truck to an auto parts store and have them read the codes for you. Most auto parts stores will do this for free.
Good Luck
