Car is jerking and sputtering while driving.

At first it started jerking, sputtering, stalling, it even did it while in park. Replaced the coil housing and it ran fine for about an hour then it started all over again but only while driving... Help please...

There are a whole bunch of things it could be. Knowing what make, model and year of your car may help us determine what the cause is, otherwise we're just giving you generic guesses.

I would look at the condition of your plug wiring, that can cause the symptoms you describe when it gets old. Some cars seem to go through plug wires, too.

Vacuum leaks can cause rough running and surging. Vacuum hoses get old and crack.

Low fuel pressure can cause similar issues, and fuel pumps do get old and tired.

Clogged fuel injectors (or carburetor if it is old enough) could be a problem, or a clogged fuel filter.

Kia sportage 2007 sputters when I drive jerks and this am as I tried to speed up it didn't seem to want to shift up just reving ??!! I changed allready pump belts and do many other parts what could it be ?...

sputters in the context if engine, means MISFIRING, is it?

for a transmission, they dont sputter. sorry

but can jerk, or snatch, (being caused by gears engaging way to late)

(aka, harsh shifting) the opposite of slip

but it can slip then engage, causes a jerk. or harsh shifting.

see?

they do 100 things wrong, mostly never to sputter.

they don\'t shift up or down

they slip. (bad tranny)

if engine sputters, its tune up time, (posted like 10,000 times here)

if the transmission has issues, have real mech test it and tell you

all the symptoms, and possible ideas.

why not?

the A/T is a very very complex electro /mechanical device.

sputter is a word best for engines. like chain saw with a bad spark plug it sputters along and stalls.

does your car stall?

My 2006 kia optima stalls and jerks when i drive it, i have changed the crank shaft sensor and oil valves, now they say it the pcm, what should i do or check on the car

PCM? did they even check coil voltage? You are a coil on plug the coil plug may have shorted to ground there are times the valve cover enters the coil in the valve cover and oil soaks the boot causing stalls and jerks, I never heard a PMC stall and **** a car, you would be the first

My car is jerking while driving.

Have engine wiring harness checked as 1993-1995 MB's were forced by US to use biodegradanle insulation on its wires. If thats not it replace coils and do a tunes up.
