What powers the slide out ?

If you are referring to a camper, the 12 volt auto battery powers them. Fully charge the battery first. there is a switch inside the camper to power the motors be sure its turned on. A lot of campers seem to have a problem with poor wire connections and broken wires. clean all connections check for broken wires and check fuses. good luck.

Anyone know what the switch located under the kitchen cupboard located above the sink of a 1999 Citation camper is used for?

Hi Steve:
Some of my older campers had a separate 110 light available.

Have you tried the switch when the unit is plugged into outside power as well as when it's only on battery?

Hohook up batterie corect

Black to Ground, Red to Positive.

Read the top of the battery for ID of which is which. The Positive will have a "plus" sign, the Negative (Ground side), will have a "minus" sign.

In the camper, the Positive cable will most certainly be RED in color. That is the convention used to made identifying it easy.

Have fun camping!

2001 VW GOLF. battery draining over night, a friend of mine who's a mecanic put a light tester to the battery and checked all the fuses no leak there, disconnected the glove compart light switch...

Hi there?
You need to test the battery itself. It could be faulty battery. Some batteries have a little LED bult in them, green led good battery, amber led battery needs charging, red led battery needs replacing.
You could allways disconnect the battery after the use of the car. if the battery still goes flat then you need to replace that battery.

Auxiliary battery use

The extra battery is there because of the glow plugs and intake heater of the duramax. During cold weather both of these systems draw high amperage from the batteries. A single battery will function, but not as well as a pair.

Getting electrical shock feeling when camper is plugged in i touch metal and get the feeling of a 9 volt battery on your tongue

check the earth on your leads and also all the connections in side the van. start on the hook up connection and work out from there. make sure it is disconnected before taking it apart. you can use a ohm meter to check the cables arnet broken. there should be almost no resistance in the earth. it is impoortant to fix this aswell as the live fault! the eart(ground) connection should result in blown fuse befor you get a shock like you are.when you resolve this you will find fueses start blowing. if its the one in the house that feeds the hook up you will have to go over all the electrics to find the bad connection. if its in the camper you know which circuit it is to look at.

you can ground the camper cruedly by ptting a copper steak in the mud and connecting it to the battery negative.

have fun and play safe as electricity is not fun if you get it wrong. make sure you turn it off before you fiddle!
