Sounds like a bad ignition module or fuel pump. Check for fuel and spark next time it quits. No spark? Bad Module! No fuel pressure? Bad Pump!

I have a 2001 2500hd Chevrolet with 6.0lt engine that when the outside air temp get 80 degrees or above the engine will shut down and will not start till the truck engine cools down and when it is 90...

Have you investigated the cooling system. Inspected all of those sensors? Normally a bad sensor would throw a code out, but it's worth a shot. Also go to basic stuff. Just throwing out ideas, flush and fill, thermostat, etc. Sometimes the biggest pain in the but is the easy stuff.

Hope this helps! Don't forget to rate.

Replacing an alternater in 2000 oldsmobile intrigue...where is it???

On the 2001, it is located on the right side of the engine, below the belt driven items. There are three bolts holding it in place, including a very long one that is attached through the bottom belt pulley. You will need to remove the radiator in order to get the alternator out. There is no way around it besides lifting the engine. It is possible to remove the alternator, but there is not enough room to maneuver the thing out of the engine unless you remove the radiator. Unless you are or know a handy mechanic in your family, you will need to pay to have this done. It takes about an hour and a half to do.

2002 oldsmobile intrigue starts but stalls only once.

You have a bad crankshaft position sensor. When the thermostat opens on warmup, the auxiliary air pump starts up momentarily which causes a quick dip in battery voltage and drops the output from the crankshaft rotation sensor. the computer thinks the engine is not running and shuts down the fuel. If idling, engine will die, if moving sometimes will just hiccup.

Engine Change

There will be issues. The 3.5 for 2000, 2001, and 2002 are interchangeable, but not the 1999. You could also use 3.5 out of and 2001 or 2002 Aurora. This information is from the Hollander interchange catalog (it's one of the sources that salvage yards use for compability).
