I checked the fuses in fuse box under the steering column, all good. Then I checked the relay box fuses (3) under the hood and all good. The blades spin freely by hand so there not seized up and the ac compressor spins freely by hand so it's good. I just dont under what would make both fans and the ac quit working at the same time. The only thing I did was take it through the carwash. Could that have caused a short ? Does it sound like an electrical issue to you ?

Car wash seems likely culprit but only thing that I can think of is some part was very hot and water caused part failure/crack. Strange thing is I would not expect fans and A/C to have a common fuse, relay or ground. Inspect carefully the wiring to each and try to trace wires back from component to see if you can find a connector, fuse or ground which has failed. Otherwise, you need a wiring diagram, or dealer's help.

Thx rustfarmer , the check engine light also came on. I'll screen it but looks like it's going to be a drop off at the mechanic issue. Daughters first car for her 16th in two weeks, don't want her getting stranded. I appreciate the advice. I tried tracing it back but I can't find a break or disconnect in the wiring.

I had the same problem w/my 2003 tiburon. The A/C only worked if I found the 'sweet spot' on the fan switch, which was usually in between 1&2 on the the switch,(dial)! Both fans are wired together, so if only 1 is bad, both won't work. Start w/the fan switch/relay, then move on to the fan motor itself. Good luck.

Fan does not work on 2003 hyundai tiburon

Radiator fan or AC fan? If its the radiator fan, you need first to check if its motor us OK. You can do this by hardwiring the electricl plug directly to the battery. Motor should run. If it doesn't, then this motor (fan) needs replacement.

If the motor runs fine when hardwiring, then you should have the car scanned for error codes. It is probably that the ECT (engine coolant temp sensor) is bad, thus the ECM never gets the signal "hey, I'm getting hot, turn on the radiator fan!"

My car Keeps shutting off when I turn on and off the AC/Fan

You would need to find out if it is a problem with the compressor or the blower motor. You could pull the compressor relay or unplug the compressor to find out.

Hello Kimberly 210,

I looked up your ignition to assure MYSELF your
key ... is indeed a standard TRANSPONDER.
(no idea what country we are talking about...??)

That type of response SEEMS to be a SECURITY
response... As though ONE of your keys is in trouble...

(TRANSPONDER KEYS can be damaged & intermittent) ...

My best advice is to get on eBay and find yourself
a COUPLE of NEW uncut OEM key replacements...

Shop around and find out if you have a cooperating
locksmith who will cut and code the keys for you...

The BEST price I've paid was $6 per key cut...
The worst was $60..
(they ruined my OEM key and sold me a generic
(I felt it was deliberate.. my OPINION)).

IN ANY CASE: If you wait until the key goes bad a DEALER CAN GET (page 120, 3-10 owners manual)
from $300 to $600 for full key service AND that
IS NOT INCLUDING the tow charges.

Some cars allow you (the owner (nothing found))
to code the keys yourself...

but you CANNOT do it WITHOUT at least TWO (2)
WORKING KEYS...

Sorry... I don't know TIBURON specifics

Ac in my hyundai tiburon not working but the light turns on

There usally is a problem with the ac in general when the light does this,it can be the cooling fans are not working, check to see if they come on,when the ac is on,also make sure the freon has not leaked out.

Ac wont work

It may either be your Blower Motor (Fan) which is located under the passanger side dash footwell or your A/C compressor is not working.

2003 Tiburon air conditioner won't blow cold air

Most likely your problem is the same as mine, which means you have a crack in your air compressor therefore no matter how full you fill the freon it will always drain (or blow) right out. Solution - get a new air compressor. Try to find one in a chop shop junk yard type place if you can do it yourself.

Alternate problem - freon can lose its charge. You can take it to just about any auto store and get the freon charged up for about $70. If that doesn't fix the problem it is likely the compressor.

HOW DO I REPLACE MY TURN SIGNAL LIGHTS ON 2003 HYUNDAI TIBURON

I just found out today that it is a problem for alot of 2003 tiburons that the flasher relay for the turn signals will go out causing the turn signal lights to stay on even with the car off. The relays are internal and located on the circuit board of the BCM. In order to fix you will have to remove and disassemble the bcm circuit board from it's housing and resolder a new flasher relay. Haven't figured out where to get that flasher relay though.
