Not firing on 2,4,6 cly. Has injector pulse, spark ,an 125lds comp in all cly.

Spark timing is important, and is possible that ignition module has unusual failure. Normally spark, fuel and compression is enough so you have a weird one.

The camshaft sensor may be bad. Check the fuse for the injectors and it is possible the ECM is bad or the injector drivers more specifically are bad in the ECM .

check all your ground wires and look make sure no wires are pinched between head and block also check the distribitor for wear wobbling around in side of it

My 1988 Chevy s10 2.5 cly. Won't fire. I pulled


All "crank, no start" conditions are approached in the same way. Every engine requires certain functions to be able to run. Some of these functions rely on specific components to work and some components are part of more than one function so it is important to see the whole picture to be able to conclude anything about what may have failed. Also, these functions can ONLY be tested during the failure. Any other time and they will simply test good because the problem isn't present at the moment.
If you approach this in any other way, you are merely guessing and that only serves to replace unnecessary parts and wastes money.



Every engine requires spark, fuel and compression to run. That's what we have to look for.

These are the basics that need to be tested and will give us the info required to isolate a cause.

1) Test for spark at the plug end of the wire using a spark tester. If none found, check for power supply on the + terminal of the coil with the key on.


2) Test for injector pulse using a small bulb called a noid light. If none found, check for power supply at one side of the injector with the key on.


3) Use a fuel pressure gauge to test for correct fuel pressure, also noticing if the pressure holds when key is shut off.

4) If all of these things check good, then you would need to do a complete compression test.

Once you have determined which of these functions has dropped out,
you will know which system is having the problem.

Missing cly. 4 replaced injector,plugs and wires changed vacum hoses.whats next


Have you done any troubleshooting here ?
Is the plug getting spark from the coil ?
Is the injector getting fuel, voltage, and a ground pulse ?
Does the cylinder have normal compression ?

Lost injector pulse. First injector power is supplied by (IGN+) or fues block ,The injector are multi-potr not individual they are fired together,not individually, Now if you lost injection pulse youll need to inspect the Distributor,the pick up is highly suspectable to terminal corrosion, it corrodes easily,so be ready to replace the pick up with a module, (this is spark I know we are on Injector), Do you have spark, then leave this alone, Test injector pulse not at the injector because again its bank fire or group fired You ll need to test thes the connector harness connector,of the injectors.As long as there is spark you should have injector pulse from the injector sub harness connector make your way to the ECM , The ECM controls the energizing of the injector with a transitor or quad driver,they are synchronized to primary ignition . Here a solution if no spark correct for spark. Its either a Distributor pick up failure with ICM module.Do this only is you have no spark.If you have spark and no Injector ,replace ECM

do you have injector pulse if it drove home wouldnt think comp crank over while someone looks to see if the injectors are firing in trottle body if not check module in dist

No gas coming out the injector and there is gas pressure to the injector?


Is there an injector pulse going to the injector?(an electrical pulse to fire the injector).
Is there spark at the plugs?
If the pickup in the dist is faulty you won't have either one.
If your vehicle uses a crank pickup with or instead of dist pick up....if it is defective ....no pulse.
The above is 90% cause of no pulse....other is computer problem 10%.
If you do have a injector pulse and no spray.....and have fuel pressure....change the injector.
A quick check for spark is spray a little starting fluid in it.....if it starts on the fluid....spark is present.

Engine will Turnover but it will not fire up


To check injector pulse, you need 2 people. One is to crank the engine. The other is to watch the voltmeter connecting to the plug delivering the electrical signal to an injector. If during a period of cranking, there is no voltage displayed that means there is no injector pulse. Injector pulse comes from Cam sensor, If you have a BAd CAMSHAFT sensor you will not get injector pulse, replace sensor and that should solve your problem. Good Luck and thanks for using FIX YA
