It will continue to leak until it won't hold any water or the impeller comes apart. Could be a week, could be a month or ?

Have 2003 pt cruiser 2.4 engine have no heat replaced radiator how do I check water pump

I would check the operating temp, could be a bad thermostat, also make sure your heater core is not plugged. In addition make sure you have no air locks in the system.

Car is overheating. Flushed three times--no improvemrnt. Can run pretty well with heater on and windows open. Doesn't heat up at idle speed. Someone suggested a loose fan belt but it is hard to...

There are 3 common reasons for a car over-heating:
  • lack of coolant due to a leaking radiator hose
  • clogged thermostat-fails to open to allow more coolant from entering the the system
  • bad water pump- although most bad water pumps tend to leak, it's possible to have a bad bearing inside the water pump which in turn would fail to adequately circulate coolant
