When I try o start the engine but don`t do anything.

Start with checking battery cables. When it doesn't start, will the headlights turn on? If not suspect a battery cable/connection issue. If the headlights turn on and nothing happens, possible a starter motor problem

My 1997 Chevy Lumina will not turn on. I thought it was the starter since it started having difficulties turning on. The security light on the dash is permanently on. So i replaced the starter and tested...

REPLACE BATTERY CABLES THE POSITIVE BATTERY CABLE COULD BE SHORTING TO GROUND.REPLACE STARTER SOLENOID IF NOT BEEN REPLACED.BESURE TO PLACE BACK FLEXIBLE CONDUIT THAT GOES AROUND POSITIVE BATTERY KEEP FROM SHORTING TO GROUND. LAST TIME I SEEN BATTERY CABLES OVER HEAT WAS EITHER STARTER AND SOLENOID SHORTING OUT OR VERY LOOSE BATTERY CABLES CONNECTIONS. REPLACE BATTERY CABLES IF THEY ARE MELTED HAVE STARTER CHECKED OUT YOU COULD HAVE FAULTY STARTER STILL.

I have a 2000 chevy silverado 1500. 3 nights ago, my truck started up just fine with no problems and has never had a problem starting up. The next morning, I tried to start it and the dash lights and radio...

do you have remote start on that truck? if you do, it has a hood safety switch that will keep it from starting if hood is open. That hood switch is quite easily identifyable. Look for it on the drivers side, either close to the firewall or right at the front of the fuse box.itsa worth taking a look

One morning, I can't start my avalon. I see power but nothing happen when I turned the key. The battery is 1 yr old. Don't hear any clicking sound. Just no ignition. Can you please give me...

Before you start replacing the starter, do some simple troubleshooting so that you don't waste your money. What happens when you try to jump start the car? Have you tried charging the battery to see if it was low? Have you had your alternator checked and made sure it is putting out amperage to the battery?

Start out with the jump start, and make sure you note anything out of the ordinary, like lights on both vehicles bogging down, or that your engine did not turn over.

If the engine did not turn over but you heard the clicking from the starter, then disconnect your serpentine belt and see if you can turn the engine with a large socket wrench. If you can, then it is could be your starter. If you can't turn your engine by hand then the problem is intenal to your engine and not in the starter system.

95 Jeep cherokee Limited - i turn the key and i get nothing...I was thinking it was the battery but after a quick batter swap...still nothing when i turn the key......wonder if it is the replay, starter or...

If you don't even get a click from the starter solenoid, AND have power to it. It is most likely the starter solenoid.

But first check your fuses and make sure that you don't have something easy to replace.

Good luck! At least you didn't have to change your engine - after going through changing the starter the week before.

Alternator not charging and check engine light on

You need to take it to Autozone and have it scanned. It is on because the computer detected a problem in your computer. It doesn't cost anything. They will let you kknow what is wrong.

Heater core going bad. Also leaking freon. Take it to a shop and have them check the system. The indoor coil could also be going bad. They put a scent in all freon to let people kknow something is not right
