Yup. Fuses. Bad charging cords can short the outlet. Hooking up computers to lighter outlets is a no-no, too. Use only dedicated power ports for laptops.

That makes sense. I have the guilty habit of buying new "toys" now & then, sometimes on lunch breaks I hit up harbor freight tool stores and others

And (I'm assuming)it came equipped with the port closest to the drivers seat only? Because It's a 2013 model that I purchased in the late 2012s', that passenger side port has never shone any signs of life.....

Fuse box,Trying to find out what fuse s for the lighter

If you'd like to take the time to look at all the fuses and see which one is blown, that's the 1 needing replaced. Normally a cigarette lighter fuse is a 10 amp ( Red ) fuse.

Used cigarette lighter to inflate tire, left inflater on for a long time now cigarette lighter doesn't work and car doesn't always start

It sounds like you might have drained your battery! When the car is running does the Cigarette lighter produce power? It should be working while the car is running. That would also explain why the car starts sporadically. Try leaving the car on for 40 minutes. That might charge the battery enough.

Hood won't open release button doesn't work

If the car has a cigarette lighter or power port you can buy a "jumper" at an auto parts store. This method does take quite some time though, because the wires are small gauge. It connects one car to the other via the power port and/or cigarette lighter socket.

This is because there is no voltage on pin 16 in the DLC and so the scan tool cannot be powered ON. Most of the scanners have 12 VDC input port by which the scanner can be powered and the car can be scanned.

Interiour light dosent work *** lighter dosent work

First thing to check: fuse(s) for the cigarette lighter/power port, which may also be the same fuse for the interior lighting that went out. Could post the location of your fuse box (most Hyundai cars have 2 - one under hood, and a second under the dash (where your power port/interior lighting fuses are most likely located)), if you could clarify which model/year/engine size Hyundai car/truck is giving you problems.

Help, I only have the cigarette lighter port and no power ports

The fastest way is to add an auxilary power port. You can get at O'Reilly or any good car location.
Mount the unit in a convenient place under the dash.
Connect the red to a live always on wire or run out through the firewall and to the pos term on the battery.
Connect the ground to a good metal connection under the dash.

You can also find the original unit at Crysler or junk yard, but the 1st concept is much easier to implement.

Cigarette lighter stopped working

Your post is just a tad bit confusing. In most cars these days they have a ciggarette lighter as well as a power port or two.

Is your cigarette light port and your power port, in your eyes, the same thing? If yes, and you've checked the fuse and "it appears to be fine" then I would say that you have a short in your wiring that for some reason isn't tripping the fuse. Unlikely though.

I believe in one car I worked on had two different fuses that went to the ciggarette ligher. Maybe just maybe you have a few different fuses running your ports and you checked some of the fuses but not all of them.

Most cars have fuse boxes in the following locations: Engine Bay, Glove Box, Drivers or passengers side kick panel, trunk.

The most likely spots to check for a fuse box is to the left of your legs while sitting in the drivers seat and underneath the hood.

Hope this helps out,
