Question about 1998 Oldsmobile Bravada

1 Answer

Have a 98 Olds Bravada it has a noise coming from rear of engine on the passenger side. Dealership said it was possible a transmission issue. I think differently, b/c the noise is at park or drive.

Depends on the noise. Tapping or knocking is rod bearings, engine side. Whining is the transmission side. Torque converter, pump, and parts further inside the transmission.

Where is starter on 98 olds bravada?

The starter should be on the right side of the engine (passenger side), under the vehicle where the transmission meets the engine.

Where is the blower motor for 98 olds brevada located. i need to replace it

inside the plastic housing on the passenger side of the engine compartment - plastic housing has to be cut open and fan removed - not a job for the first timer - need a dremel or good cutting tool to do a good job on the housing - check a Haynes manual for a little better info

Check engine light came on,just replaced engine w/ 2002 olds bravada engine but one sensor was different it mounts to the back of the engine ? what is it

If the sensor is round with a single wire running to it that would be a knock sensor. Found on the rear of the passenger side cylinder head.

Does the AC come on and stay on? If so it will be either in the heater control head or a blend door or blend door motor!

2001 Olds Alero will act **** when switching gears

My car does the same thing. I wondered that myself, I don't think that's what it is though, I don't think you have an issue with the transmission. Your car has TWO check engine lights, and with the Alero--if there is an issue with the transmission one of the lights will come on. I am not 100% positive of this, but I had a 1999 Bravada (Olds) and it did do that when I had a tranny issue.

I notice when I drive my 2001 Alero my right leg gets SORE from pushing the pedal so hard. I think it is age, not the transmission.

READ YOUR SERVICE MANUALS. I don't get why people ignore them, honestly they have a wealth of information in them...could have saved a lot of people lots of money when people started claiming their car wouldn't start when it was a security feature that is listed in the manual that came with the book.

Passenger side mirror is loose on Olds Bravada 1997

there should be no reason for side mirrors to be loose unless one hit something to make it come loose, rear-ly does that bolt will ever come lose itself. pop the cover off on passenger side with screw driver, do it gentle-ly it held on by plastic tab, then you will see the bolts holding on to the mirror, tight the bolt if its not broken. if need replacing, get one from the junk yard.
