The official way of finding out is to drain the oil out of the old compressor and fill the new one with the same amount. Otherwise you would not know how much oil is sitting in the condenser and evaporator to judge how much to put in the compressor. I think the min amount is 3 or 4 ounces.
well sounds like u just blew a head gasket check ur coolant level or better yet put some antifreeze in it and let it run and see if u have an excessive amount of water coming out of the exhaust and keep check on the coolant level and see if u loose antifreeze as i suspect u will and if u r loosing coolant then its probably not smoke u r seeing but steam instead
u will need a steering wheel puller,u will have to disharm and take airbag off if equip.,i would suggest to get manual it explains step by step procedure!
sorry not an easy fix, you must replace the freze out plug by taking out the old one and replace with a new one. needs to be done on a lift not a backyard job
