It may not need a rebuild or replace. Have a tranny service done on it. That is, run till warmed up, drain the fluid, remove the pan and clean it out. Clean the screen/filter that's part of the pan. A tranny service kit will have a new gasket, filter, etc. You might want to get a Chiltons/Haynes repair manual for you vehicle as this manual will lead you through the procedure and will tell you how many quarts and of what type of tranny fluid you will need. Or you can call around to shops to get a quote. DO NOT use a shop that uses a "no drain" vacuum system. Not saying this will cure your car should it truly need a replacement. But as my late father (a master mechanic/welder) always said : Start with the simplest, cheapest fix.
What's probably happening is that your fluid is old and as it warms it loses viscosity and gets to thin.

Replace it or rebuild it. It is just old and tired.

If the idle speed in park is normal you probably have a bad torque converter. This will require removel of the transmission to replace. Good Luck Please leave feedback rating. Thank You

Sorry but this is far too complex a fault to be able to solve remotely. There's the added complication that nobody on FixYa has any way of knowing whether the transmission rebuild was done properly, or was just a cheap replacement of a few obvious broken/worn parts and a fresh coat of paint. There is no such thing as a cheap rebuild, so if that's what you had then that's what you got. A good rebuild takes time and money and that's why a good rebuild usually comes with a warranty which gives the same or similar protection to a brand new Honda original. By contrast, cheap rebuilds are usually only good enough to enable you to sell a faulty car to the next unsuspecting owner.

If you had a proper tranny rebuild then contact the company which did the work as your fault might still be under warranty.

If you're lucky, it's just the shifter linkages which have disconnected or have broken/worn bushings but you'll only find out by getting the car to a garage for proper diagnosis.

I know this sounds stupid but will it back up if you put it in 4wd low? If yes its a transfer case problem. If no, they the transmission will need rebuilt. Also can you push the vehicle forward or backward in park?

Can get all forward gears but can not put it into reverse gear unless the car has been warmed up for ten minutes

The seals inside your transmission are bad and leaking by and they don't start to seal until the tranny fluid warms up and swells the seals. To temporarily fix this problem you can pour some brake fluid into your transmission fluid. This will swell the seal in the transmission and it should start working again. This is only a temporary fix however, eventually you will ned to replace or rebuild your tranny. I used this method on a turbo trans 350 and got a year of service out of it that way before I had to replace the tranny. Just do not put too much brake fluid into the tranny, I would recommend one or two capfuls to start with.

Have the linkage checked first. If your shifter is 1/8" off, you can totally miss reverse.

You need to check if the gear oil is still o.k. and the oil transmission and check the release bearing if still intact.
