My engine stalls?

The crank sensor is located behind the crank pulley on the 3.8 liter. The crank pulley must first be removed. A 15/16" socket, three very long 8 x 1.0 bolts (pretty sure that is the size, some large washers, and a crank pulley pulley will be required.

With the crank pulley removed mark the bracket where the old crank sensor is located so that the new sensor can be placed in exactly the same position. Failure to do this will result in the new sensor and/or the crank pulley being severely damaged.

Then it's as simple as removing the old sensors and installing the new one.

Good luck and let me know if you have any questions.

My 1998 dodge intrepid cranks and runs fine but it will quit running and die after a couple hours or so it will crank and be fine untill it happens again never know when

thers a sensor going bad, trying to remember which one . did service engine light come on ? go to auto parts store and have them pull a trouble code out. its a sensor overheating. It might be the MAP sensor , it contols fuel delivery and ignition timing . replace it , also, replacing the OXYGEN sensor is always a good thing too. good luck !

Getting no spark. a recent code mentioned the crank sensor and o2 sensor. the o2 sensor was replaced and no new code has shown but it only ran once since then. would like to know where the crank sensor...

O2 sensor won't cause a no spark no start condition but the crank sensor will. most time bad crank sensor will not set a code if engine doesn't start. usually set code on o drop while driving. I would check connection at sensor if good then replace sensor.

My crank sensor for 1997 Audi A6 quattro is showing low voltage and wont start what is causing this

Your crank sensor is bad. That is also what causes a no start like you are experiencing. The crank sensor takes the place of a distributor and tells the computer what position the engine or crank is at so it knows where to send the spark. You are going to need to have the crank sensor replaced.

Need to know where the crank shaft sensor is located

That engine has 2 crank position sensors. One is near the starter and bolts to the engine block. The other is behind the crank pulley/balancer. I have to say I have not
replaced many of those. What makes you think it need replacement? Any codes stored you
know of?

Crank sensor location

Look around the bottom of cylinder block. Or near where the flywheel is to, because the crank angle sensor works from missing teeth or magnets on the flywheel or a cog/wheel fixed to the crankshaft.Hope this helps
