Question about Mercedes-Benz Cars & Trucks
Could be a few things either the stalk that works the wipers has gone ( common fault ) or the motor or fuse has gone but this is more unlikely i have replaced the indicator stalk as the flashers on the lights stopped working but other problems are the wipers stop working or the indicators work when they feel like it

SOURCE: Wiper Blades
lift the wiper arm all the way up and out from the windshiled. hold the arm so it doesnt slam back down and crack the glass. rotate/spin the whole wiper blade 90 degrees, counter clockwise, and then pull the blade straight back off the wiper arm. install the new one in the opposite order

When you pull the lever to activate the windshield washers, do you hear any type of sound coming from under the hood? A whirring sound should be heard from the little electric pump that feds the washers.
If you can hear the whir, then you should look for a possible clog in the washer hoses (there is more than one...).
If you cannot hear the whirr, then you should check the fuse that protects the windshield washer circuit. Check your owner's manual for the location and correct amperage for this circuit.

Car has rain sensing windshield. Most likely you have the wiper on/off level in the intermittent position, which turns on the sensor. When the sensor detects moisture or even dust sometimes. It turns on wipers. Just make sure the wipers are off and not in the intermittent position.
