Question about 1999 Volkswagen Jetta
If I drive longer distances and cruse between 300 and 350 rpm the Jetta will sometimes shift to 4th. I thought it was a fluid problem so I changed the transmission fluid. No luck still does the same thing.
That is near the border of the shift point. You may be able to influence it with accelerator or throttle positioner adjustment. That is only 49 mph.

SOURCE: How do I repair the gear shift?
Locate where the shift cable linkage mount to trans, check for good tight attachment to ball socket, then have some one move shift lever through gears watch to see if cable moves shift arm BOTH directions if not replace cable

2000 VW Jetta, Autmatic, 2 L: Front end vibrates between 25-30 MPH when accelerating under torque, feel like it may becoming trom the transmission. Have replaced, balanced and aligned the front two tires.
