Engine light doesnt come on when key is turned on,cranks but will not fire no fuel

Take to car to a diagnostic center, and they will attach a diagnostic machine to the car to see if it's the onboard-computer that's malfunctioning.

If the fuses are all OK, and the starter cranks the engine, but there's no firing, the diagnostic system will tell the tech what it is, there are various reasons there's no firing when the engine cranks,

Someone may say check the disable switch on the transmission, but if that's broken, the starter will not crank the engine.

How to test cam shaft sensor on 2001 chevy tracker

what engine, 2L or 2.5?
the be very hard, but is 100% covered in the FSM
i must use a scope to test it, do you have one?
log in to and read the spark page.. or buy the FSM.

here it is

here is spec page

i open my 04 2.5L FSM
page 1h6 covers CMP
i see 2 scope readings,,, 2.0L and 2.5L here,
scope channel 1 to C51-3-10 (ign. trigger sig)
scope channe 2 to C51-2-13 (cam sig)

the ign, trigger is fast
the cam is slow broad square wave
the cam sig could be seen with a voltmeter.
hi/lo repeats 5v high 0v low.
the spark trigger is way too fast to see. with any slow meter.
about 2 milliseconds, 0.002 seconds. 3volt spike,

log in and read it. at or mitchells.

why not post symptoms.?
why not post, if scanning the ECU , cranking for 5 seconds
does the ECU set , P0340sor 355s or dead RPM PID.
why not do that and see if the ECU hates the CMP?
it will in fact report even 1 dropout in 10, !!!!
do that way before scope comes out or buy one CMP.

2007 camry 4 cyl will not start. Showing no codes. HELP

I would have looked to the crank sensor before the cam sensor in the first place. The crank sensor is what tells the computer where the engine is in relation to the ignition cycle. The cam sensor just tells the computer if it is on the compression stroke or the exhaust stroke.

2005 Dodge Neon I have a problem that causes my car not to go over 2100 RPM (can still shift gears, its a manual) codes come out as knock sensor, cam/crank sensor (cant remember which). I can replace...

basically, unless the tone ring has come into contact with something and broken a tooth off, then it is highly unlikely this has occurred...this is more for older vehicles where the plastic cover has started to deteriorate and come into contact with the tone wheel and broken one or more suggestion would be to replace the sensor, as this is the more likely cause !!

something is wrong
if there is no signal from the cam or crank sensors , it will not start or run
maybe the scan tool is not operating correctly
if it starts then idles then dies , that could be the maf sensor

1999 E350 Ford Van w/ no start situation

Pid is parameter identification. It is telling you to read the tps on a scanner. So you would access it with a scanner. Unplug the cam sensor and crank it, see if you get spark. You are checking the coil pulse when cranking with a noid light?

check or replace the cam sensor, this sensor sense the turning of the cranksaft by sending info to ECU telling ecu to tell the coil to disperse the sparks. is the cam sensor is faulty than you will not get any fire/sparks from the coil assuming the coil, wires and plugs are good. crank sensor does the same but turn on the fuel pump. hope that help some
