SOURCE: camaro fuel pump

The fuel pump is in the gas tank. To replace it you need to drain most of the fuel out of the tank and remove the tank from the car. The car needs to be lifted up in the air enough to slide the tank from under the car. There is a metal ring on the top of the tank and it needs to be removed jently with a screw driver and a small hammer. This part (fuel sending unit) is worth lots of money so do not damage it. The pump is in the tank and will come out when the metal retaining ring/ fuel sending unit is removed. Install the new pump the same way the old one came out and reverse these steps for installation.
It may be possible to make the pump work for a short while if you hit the bottom of the fuel tank in the middle with a hammer.

SOURCE: How to bypass power sterring pump on 94 camaro v6

I need more information. Why do you want to bypass your power steering pump? If you have a cerpentine belt order another belt for the same car except without power steering. If your car has regular v belts, you want to make sure that the belt is connected to at least 3 pulleys. One pulley is the crankshaft , the power steering and something else. As long as the pump is not the one with the tension adjustment on it, remove the belt and run a rope about the size of the belt around the other 2 pulleys, end to end. measure the length of the rope and go to the parts store and get a belt to that size.

Problem with 1994 Camaro!! We changed the fuel filter, spark plug and wires, and all coil packs and my car still just dies driving, it takes a bit for it to die like when it gets warm, then i sit for a bit...

All "crank, no start" conditions are approached in the same way. Every engine requires certain functions to be able to run. Some of these functions rely on specific components to work and some components are part of more than one function so it is important to see the whole picture to be able to conclude anything about what may have failed. Also, these functions can ONLY be tested during the failure. Any other time and they will simply test good because the problem isn't present at the moment.
If you approach this in any other way, you are merely guessing and that only serves to replace unnecessary parts and wastes money.

Every engine requires spark, fuel and compression to run. That's what we have to look for.

These are the basics that need to be tested and will give us the info required to isolate a cause.

1) Test for spark at the plug end of the wire using a spark tester. If none found, check for power supply on the + terminal of the coil with the key on.

2) Test for injector pulse using a small bulb called a noid light. If none found, check for power supply at one side of the injector with the key on.

3) Use a fuel pressure gauge to test for correct fuel pressure, also noticing if the pressure holds when key is shut off.

Once you have determined which of these functions has dropped out,
you will know which system is having the problem.
