SOURCE: Loud screaching sound when Starting

It sounds like the belt is slipping, and as it does, it warms up, grips better, and the noise stops. Check the serpentine belt tensioner, it should have a scale (range) that shows if your belt is stretched beyond it's serviceable use, which could be the problem, and an easy fix. Let me know how u make out.

Did you replace your fuel filter when you did the pump? At lower RPM's the engine would be starving for fuel. Another cause could be your throttle position sensor. It is what shifts your transmission at predetermined shift points as you throttle up and down. It is also what kicks down your engine when you are stopping or slowing down as you go down through the gears. Hope that helps!

SOURCE: Oil Pump light flickering + rough idle on 1996 Nissan Maxima

Sounds more like the Throttle Position Sensor or another sensor is letting the engine RPM's drop too low. When the RPM's are too low, the oil pump is not pumping enough oil.

unless you can discover what DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) has been recorded/set in the control module, it's anyone's guess.

If you have not found the problem yet, check the transmission interlock. Sounds like the shifter interlock switch may not be engaging to allow the starter to activate!

Hi everyone, I have hyundai matrix gls 2004 and it is making a ticking noise and think it's the lifters but my question is can lifters cause power loss on an uphill?

If valves are very loose power loss can result, but I think in your case these may be two separate issues. Start with valve adjust or lifter repair, then see what you have.

Labor cost for changing an oil pump

this question sure depends on make and model car , rear drive cars can usually be done without removing the engine from car in less than a day , but most front wheel drive cars no way you can access it while engine is in car this makes it a two day event , I do question ? why you think you need a new oil pump ,U know if engine ran more than a few minutes without proper oil pressure , its sure to be well worn out internally , id sure be looking real carefull for metal bits in oil that's drained from car , coffee filters are perfect for this task , most times this requires a engine swap !!

What can happen if on a hyundai matrix 1.6 the oil pump fails

that doesn't sound like a oil pump. if the car is overheating and the engine shuts down. Most likely you have blown a head gasket or jumped time. i would go with the head gasket if its overheating. hopefully its just the gasket and not a worped head.

Steam comes out of the air vents Hyundai getz

Sounds like the heater matrix has been damaged. Turn the heater to cold to see if still happen. If it stops, took under bonnet/hood to see if its coming out in engine bay.....

There is a blinking red led light under lower left side of driver and steering wheel attached to dash. It blinks ALWAYs!!!

This is most likely your "Valet" alarm disable switch. Use to disable your car alarm so you can keep your Alarm Fob and let a Valet, mechanic, friend etc. operate the car without the alarm being functional. If it is an after market alarm, consult the mfg's manual, if OEM contact dealer for operating instructions.

Engine overheat, A/C shut off, fan hot

Chances are that your engine is ok. Bad engine overheating can seize the engine. Less extensive overheating can crack the engine especially the cylinder head and lead to power loss or mixing of water and engine oil. If water is mixing with oil, the oil looks milky. If your car is not losing power and the oil looks normal then chances are that there was no damage to your engine.

Just make sure that whatever caused the overheating in the first place is sorted out - perhaps the radiator flushing resolved the cause of the overheating.
