Brake lights don t work

Check the turn signal switch. Brake light power comes thru it before the brake light switch on the brake pedal

My 1984 chevrolet silverado high beams lights works and low beam lights, turning lights, emergency light and brakes lights don't work. I need help!

Those lights are on different circuits. The high and low beam lights are powered thru the headlight switch, the turn signals, brake, and hazards go thru the turn signal switch.
I would want to know if each circuit has power at the switch that controls it.

1995 dodge ram 2500 third brake light works but the rear brake lights don't work

The circuit goes from the brake light switch thru the turn signal switch and uses the same bulbs as the rear turn signals. I would check for power in and out of that switch next.

My brake lights stop working but my brake light in the window still works

Hi, the likely problem in this case is the turn signal switch. the brake lights use the same bulb filaments as the turn signals, and the brake signal goes to the turn switch. The signal is supposed to pass thru the switch when the signals are off. Replacing the switch requires special tools, including a steering wheel puller and a lock plate spring compressor. If you can borrow these tool, I could walk you thru the procedure.

Signal lights don't work properly when brake is applied

The power flow for the brake lights goes like this: Fuse ->Brake switch -> Turn signal switch -> Rear lights. The only difference is, if you have a 3rd brake light in your rear window, that gets its power directly from the brake switch. It does not go thru the signal switch first. So, if you are having a brake light problem, and your fuses are good, check the 3rd light in the rear window, if it lights up (assuming the bulbs are good, noone ever changes them), then the problem is most likely in the switch, hope this helps!

Look under the dash, on the brake pedal arm. There are one or two switches that activate brake lights and/or shift unlock. Check for loose mounting nut or a missing rubber nubber. Is the brake pedal coming all the way back up? Look on the floor for something not usually found there. These switches are adjustable and it may be as simple as adjusting them. Have a helper look for brake lights on and shift lever unlocked while you push and release the switches with your finger. Depress the brake pedal to get it out of the way. Remember to set the park brake first. Could just be a bad switch or loose connector. Check fuses and the bulbs. Is shifter fully in Park?

All this stuff runs thru the multi-function stalk. (the turn signal lever) It could be worn out.

Iv been having problems with my brake lights on a 1995 Chevy tahoe . They work fine when i have my signal lights on but not when I brake .. so I bought the switch commutateur interruptor but I can't...

If i have this straight the brake lights work ok when the turn siginal is on but don't when just the brake is applyed . The problem has to be eighter the muilty function switch on the coloum or the switch that controls the cruise control funtion tells it to shout off when you apply the brakes . The pedel switch must be working or you would have no brake lights . I would advice to check the cruise control switch first its linked to the brake pedel switch . Also look for other electrical problems no matter how small that relate to the pedel switch this could be a bad connection at a treminal connector . The cruise control switch is located up under the dask on the drivers side mounted just above the mil connector follow the wires from the pedel switch . However it could still be the muilty function switch on the coloum has shorted out . Your just going to have to look at an figure it out it could be simple or you may need one of these 2 switches . Good luck and think before you do

My brake lights won't work thus causing my automatic shiter the lock into park. any suggestions thanks chris

Look above your brake pedal and you will see your brake switch up along your brake pedal arm. It will either be between the brake arm and the firewall so when you brake it pushes the switch in. Or it will be between the dash and the brake arm so when you brake it pulls the switch out. This switch will need to be replaced.
