Can changing the water pump be a DIY or do I need a pro, I seems as though there is alot of stuff to take out to get to the water pump

Replacing the water pump on this front wheel drive van is a real challenge even for a professional. So the answer is that if you can afford it leave it to the dealer or a trusted repair shop. Use only a new not rebuilt water pump, they are cheaper but they fail much sooner and it is false economy.

Crossover gasket on 1997 cadillac deville is leaking. is it wise to ask to dealer to fix it?

It is wise to call around and get a price for changing it. Or just ask them what their hourly rate is. Dealerships tend to be higher than most repair shops. Don't let price solely dictate your decision. If a dealer charges $125/hr and a shop charges $50/ might throw up a red flag that something is 'rotten in Denmark'. It's nice to have a shop that you trust and can afford.

Problem with water pump&timing belt

Belts are quiet and can last a long time,,,,, as long as,,,,,,the water pump, doesn't fail/leak, the tensionser(s) dont' dry out, the cam or crank seals don't leak oil, and contaminate the belt causing premature failure. Most engineers amd mechanics prefer to replace them at 80,000 miles, If you can't see it, you can't tell its, condition, and the engine damage that can occur from a broken belt can hit a wallet or purse pretty hard. Some people may say they can't afford the PM and opt toe take their chances, Then, if and when it does happen, is usually NOT at the best of times. Many a good looking vehicles ahve made their way to the scrapyard way too early due to neglect by the owner. Also keep in mind, The more elaborate the vehicle is, the higher the cost to maintain. You can't purchase Cadillac parts and repairs, at Cavalier prices.

I was told that my Water Pump has a slight leak and I have to change the pump and Inlet tube. The cost is 525. Is this price good? There is no evidence of physical leak but I have to add coolant veery week

That's ridiculous. Look at your cap that covers the reservoir, the seal under these caps get weakened and allow water to drip out or even sometime spew out. The cap is about $6, Even change your hose out you still will only pay $16 each for the hoses.The pump is maybe $45 and rest of it is labor. They are trying to get a ripoff. Maybe right price in your state but not here. Be careful, they say this needs to be changed but in reality it will never get changed but a different cheaper part will be changed to fix your problem for this high amount.

How much does it cost to fix the water pump?

do it yourself or at a repair shop .do it yourself and depending on aftermarket parts or brand new from the dealer and the level of mechanical ability and tools you will need t purchase compared to i believe starting at $76.00 on up will depend who and where it is repaired at aftermarket price as well as a new price can be given from any parts stores as well as any repair shop will quote you ..exactly to the penny }}}

Oil leak

time to take it to the dealer for an estimate only.  Then get the repairs done as you can afford them at a independent garage.  Sadly it may be time for a replacement auto if the rear main seal, or the crank seal is leaking.
