No. Engine and transmission are pulled out together to replace or repair the engine assembly.

Sorry, The engine must be separated from the transmission to remove crankshaft. The engine has to come out. I would not recommend this job without a good Chilton or Haynes manual, and a big toolbox.

You really should get an automobile service manual for your truck. Haynes makes a good one and it is available at your auto parts store. Don't mess with an auto transmission without a guide book...it is cheaper than replacing the transmission!

90 to 105 comression on my 95 saturn timing chain broke will it run if i put a new chain in


I'm 99% positive that compression should be more than 200psi. If the chain broke it bent valves. A used motor would be your better option. The 1.9 SOHC is a cheap and common engine. The 1.9 DOHC will be considerably more expensive.

If you have a manual transmission the engine and trans will need to be pulled together and separated out of the car. If you have an automatic transmission the engine can be removed without pulling the transmission.

if they were replacing the transmission yes they had to pull off all the sensors connected to the tranny and then pull some off the motor to get the old tranny out new in they should replace the harness if they left it loose which they probably did and they had to pull battery wires to replace tranny

Usually not. As long as you can reach all the bolts that connect the transmission to the motor, then, no. There are usually two near the top of the bellhousing, near the floor and firewall, that are hard to reach (and hard to swing a wrench on), but (at least on the cars I have worked on) they are easier to get out than to pull the engine.

Now, if you are pulling the motor, on many cars it is easier to also pull the transmission with the motor, than to try to separate them and also support the transmission once the engine is unbolted. But the transmission is usually easier to pull by itself.

I'm repairing the oil pan but I can not remove it, how do I remove the transmission


Before you remove the transmission and not knowing the condition of your oilpan, I might be able to save you some trouble.
If you have a few leaks in the metal of the oilpan, JB Weld can be used without replacing a pan. If you have a stripped drain hole, there are oversized plugs and rubber expansion plugs for that problem.

Sometimes you need to turn the crankshaft to clear the rods. And you can clear the frame and the oilpump with the oilpan by loosening the motor mounts and trans mounts and lifting the motor and reblocking the motor mounts.

But if you want to still pull the trans out, you will pull the driveshaft, the trans linkage and dipstick pipe. Then unbolt the starter, torque converter, and finally every bolt on the trans case to motor block. Earlier you loosened the trans mount bolts, now the frame crossbar should be unbolted and everything should drop.

I would pull them both if you don't have to have the car for awhile, that way you can replace both seals on the transmission whether they need it or not just to be sure. Other wise you could just replace the front seal on the transmission if you don't pull them both.

Pulling motor in 97 explorer do i have to pull transmission too? How many hours should it take?


just finished doing the same thing. i wanted the motor for my son in laws mustang gt. as the motor has the gt40p heads and intake. getting back to your question. no you don,t have to pull the transmission. just support it under the pan with a floor jack. after you disconnect everything else and pull the motor use rope through the transmission mounting holes and tie it up tight to the hood hinges. drop the jack and your set. the problem i always have with these is the exhaust manifold flange bolts. even after soaking them with nut buster they usually snap. if your not going to reuse them like me no big deal. otherwise heat them with a torch take out the broken studs and replace them.(about 8 bucks at autozone). it took us about 3 hours. but we have some experience.good luck.

Blower motor location for 2000 Caravan


The motor is located just under the glove box on the passenger side. I remove the glove box then the panel below the glove box. I also go ahead and pull back the carpet and the padding under the motor. It is held in place by 3-4 bolts that take a 7-8 millimeter socket. I use a swivel extension for the back bolts. The motor with the fan blade attached is a tight fit, just keep wiggling and pulling it should come out. Try to remove the old moter without cracking the fan blade, because sometimes the replacement motor doesn't come with a blade
