I would agree with previous answer providing you are certain that it is rad fluid that's leaking and not a leak from rain

Is the core actually what is leaking or is it maybe your lines or connections? Also, where did you get the core? If you have changed it twice i would venture to say that the original was the first change and a replacement was the second change? Maybe you just got a bad core and it is nothing you did wrong.

How come when I start up my 1999 Cadillac deville I smell antifreeze real strong through the vents ? Is something wrong?

The heater core may be leaking / faulty - not familiar with Cadillacs, but normally it is located inside the car, behind the dashboard (glovebox) on the passenger side (near the blower motor). This may be something for a mechanic to diagnose if you are not familiar with automotive heating/cooling systems.

Are heater cores expensive to change in these cars

Hi Carol, what makes you think your heater core is leaking,is your antifreeze container low,if not then it's not leaking, could cost 3 to 5 hundred bucks,I just changed mine in my truck,it was leaking on driver side and my windows were getting fogged up.I had to lift the dash up on mine to do,i did it 10 years ago,so this time was easy, here's a link on replacing your heater core,Does your heater get the inside warm, does it have a musky smell?if it is leaking, then your antifreeze container will be low,has it been raining alot, you said in your other post that water is on the passenger side, rain water can come thru the intake vent. 2009 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited heater core replaced 3 times

if they have replaced it 3 times and still can't get the leak stopped
A. It not the heater core something else is leaking

B. there using a used heater core (which is my opinion is plain . . stupid)
C. the mechanic has no idea what he doing
First thing they should have done when car was brought in the 1st time was check for other leaks if it is the heater core still leaking the mechanic is installing it wrong or not geting hoses tight. the actual changing of the heater core takes only about 10 minutes and actually a easy process that anyone could do. What takes the most time is getting to the heater core because the majorly of the time the whole dash has to come out which takes hours

I would take your car somewhere else and have it fixed right and have them bill the dealership for the repairs

Change heater core twice and still have same problems

Probably still have the old antifreeze in the heater case, may have puddled in some low area. I don't know if you'd have any luck swabbing a rag in there anywhere, or how to dry out the inside. May have to let it dry over time. If new core is not leaking, nothing wrong with it. Keep checking for leaks and monitor your coolant level. If it is old coolant in the case from first core, get creative and figure a way to dry it-shoot compressed air back through the vents?

I have a water leak on the passenger seat from my ford escort 1999 ac

One of two things have happened. Either the AC drain is clogged and condensation water is leaking into the passenger comparment or.... the notorious ford escort heater core is leaking. (I had an escort for 7 years and changed the heater core 2 times. Metal core with plastic end caps. Both of mine leaked at a corner of the end cap. Not a fun job to swap out a heater core either......

95 cavalier / no heat have antifreeze in drivers floor

hELLO THERE:
This would be a indivcation thatyour heater core is leaking or that the hoses that are attached to the heater core is leaking
I would first inspect the hoses that go to the heater core and then remove the cover for the heater core this has a seam in the middle of the box that covers the heater core just use a very sharp knife and gently cut along the seam and remove the cover now you will be able to see the heater core and you will be able to tell if the heater core is leaking or if it is just the hose that is attached to it ok?
I hope this is very helpful for you
Best regards Michael
