Rod, FI engine: 34 lbs
Rod, Carb engine: 23 lbs
(I use blue thread locker on rod caps)


Crank caps: 51 lbs. (oil threads and under bolt head)

the specs for the 1991 prelude with a 2.1 engine are, the connecting rod caps are 34 ftlbs and the main bearing cap are 49 ft lbs, hope this helps,

Interesting. First of all, I have never heard of such a thing being included on safety inspection. It almost sounds like your repair facility trying to drum up work. Secondly, most tie rods can be repaired by simply changing the ends. And yes, if you do this proceedure, an alignment is in order. I hope you find this very helpful!

Torque specs for 96 Honda Accord 2.2L

the main bearings bolts is to 1st step 30Nm or 22lbs ft and the last step is 75Nm or 54lbs ft in this tighten secuence. 9 3 1 5 7 on the top bolts and........ ........ ........ ... 8 6 2 4 10 botton bolts and the connecting rod 45Nm or 34 lbs ft i hope be help you
