Keep blowing tail light fuse 45 on my 2002 Pontiac Grand Am?

There is an issue, you have a dead short in the circuit, no quick fix for this. You must first get a wiring diagram of the entire circuit and then follow it until you locate the shorted wire or component.

I'm looking at getting a 1995 Pathfinder LE ($1500). It has a trans issue: it seems to hesitate/ won't shift into reverse after the trans has been warmed up. Any ideas what the root cause is?

There are several possible causes for this, both internal and external to the transmission.

Externally it could be a problem with the shift linkage. The transmission line pressure is too low or the Line Pressure Solenoid (LPS) is bad. It is possibly a bad valve body also. There may be a DTC for the LPS in the PCM. In addition if you go to your Nissan dealer and ask for a copy of Technical Bulletin ATRATB342, it will give you the procedure for testing the LPS.

Internally it could be a bad Reverse Clutch, High Clutch, Forward Clutch or Overrun Clutch. All of which require the opening of the transmission to inspect and replaces.

Good luck and hope this helps, please rate and keep me posted. Be glad to answer any more questions you may have and thank you for using fixya.

My 1990 Olds Cutlass Calais is missing the fuse box cover and therefore has no diagram for fuse placement. Is one available online? Copy I can print or just refer to in order to replace correct fuses?

I have always had a place in my heart for the Olds Cutlass. I own a '90 Olds Cutlass Calais--WITH the fuse box COVER. I went out to the car and removed the cover and have it next to me so that I can type the EXACT fuse order as they appear on the inside cover. There are 2 col. When I've finished the l/h side, I'll make a line to indicate the start of the r/h side. I will also put the Circuit on the left & fuse on the right. If you are ready, HERE WE GO:

According to the owner's manual, the "deck" message means that your trunk is open. If your trunk is indeed closed, try opening and closing it a couple of times to see if it's not closing all the way due to an obstruction. If all this fails, you may have a bad fuse or connection that makes the computer think that the trunk is still open. Hope that helps!
