My traction control comes on when driving

If it comes on occasiionally, you obviously are driving on some slick surface. When it senses the slip, it automatically engages the traction control.

Even minor slippage will engage the traction control, like turning a corner, and one wheel slipps a little. If the light is constantly on, you have hit the switch for the Traction Control.

Abs light traction control and stabilitrac light come on all the time.

Hi Nicholson, I believe that if the places you have taken the vehicle to for inspection carry out a diagnostic scan the problem should be pin pointed and become very evident. To me it seems as if the problem is related to one of the wheel pick up sensors. The pick up sensors are fitted one to each wheel above a rotor which rotates with the wheel. The ABS, the Traction control and stability control all use the same sensors. I believe one of them is defective and possibly intermittent, but even so the fault should be recorded and remain for it to be read during the diagnosis. Regards John

Saturn vue 2004 intermittent abs and traction control comes on and after restarting shuts off?

Has this happened after you replaced the sensors for the abs. if so they have to be set at a gap close to the rotor sensor to read correctly. The other thing maybe if the new sensors area slightly different to the original ones the abs might be having trouble identifying them.
The last one maybe, could the new brake pads be causing flexing or pushing against something resulting in this intermittent problem.

I had the ABS light come on along with the service traction control. I had it checked at a GM dealer and was told that the right hub needed to be replaced. I OK'd the work thinking it would take care of...

Hi,the traction control light coming up means there is a fault detected in the system and a scan tool will be required to learn what fault has been detected. Possible steering angle sensor, wheel speed sensor or brake pressure sensor since the light comes up when making turns or when backing up. Faults are to be checked and proper diagnostic procedures carried out before parts replacement remedies.....

VW PASSAT 03 V6. EPC AND TRACTION LIGHT COME ON INTERMITTANTLY.

First, to read VW codes you will want to get yourself a $50 VAG tool. It will read all your systems, not just the ECU.
Electronic Power Control can go out for several reasons. Check your brake lights with the car running. Check you radiator fluid level. If the car is running bad, you could have bad spark plugs/ wires or ignition coil.
The traction control is tied into the ABS system and often causes problems here as well. Each wheel has a speed sensor and magnet wheel in the hub. You can check these for damage by removing the tires for access. The sensors come out by hand, and inside the hole they come out of is the place to check the magnets with a flash light. Apply a small amount of wheel bearing grease to the sensor.
The control unit goes out in these systems at an alarming rate. They can be easily removed, and repaired for under $200 at modulemaster.com
Since it is intermit, I suspect most likely a loose sensor, or electrical connector.
If your brakes feel squishy at all, bleed the brake lines of air and contaminants.
Good Luck!

Traction control light comes on when wheels are not skidding

the major difference in the tire size is enough to cause the traction control to activate the car sees a speed difference between the front and rear tires and thinks it is slipping it will continue until you replace the other two tires
