Hi,
Does it do the same behavior when in 4WD LOW or 4WD High? If so, it's the transfer case or possible the front or rear differential.

What's your problem?car will shift into all gears but will not move. I was driving and came to a stop sign when the car made a thump noise and then it would not move, you can put it into drive and all...

Bout all you can do with automatics is check the fluid, keep it full, and check your shifter linkage for binding. If problem turns out to be internal, it is time to visit the transmission shop.

I'm having a thump thump thump when excelerting and decelelrating. sounds and feels like it's coming from rearend

When was the last time you had your rear differential looked at or serviced? Basically when its happening something in your drive train is out of whack, so to fix it we need to look at the sequence of where the power goes, but if it sounds like its coming from the back,we'll start at the drive shaft itself, when it spins, it gives power to the rear differential, which is most likely where the noise is coming from. Driving should be limited while this problem is occurring because if any of the gears in the rear diff have become shaved or broken, the problem could get much worse while spinning with the pieces of gear are spinning around inside the still working gears. The first thing you should do is re-lubricate the gears in the rear, if this doesn't fix it, a trip to the shop is in order.

87 Mercedes Benz 300E thumping issue.

I believe you have a transmission mount that is bad, possibly and engine mount. When you are shifting the engine will raise and bump the firewall, floorpan.
Good luck

2005 expedition rear a/c makes thumping noise when transferring

Sounds like the roof/floor actuator internal gear is stripped. The only way to fix it is to replace it. Remove the cup holder in the right rear trim panel. remove the 8mm bolts holding actuator and replace.
