Hello Roger, I would wait to see what the shop says the problem is. After that, I think I would be looking for a refund and find a shop that CAN fix it.

I just had my 700r4 tranny rebuilt again! The guy I purchased my truck from just had it rebuilt 3 yrs ago. It had a hard second shift and he told me that was from the shift kit they put in it. Well, that...

The throttle valve cable controls the transmission pressure. Adjusting this cable is the most important step when installing a 700R4 or 200R4 transmission.

2003 dodge neon transmission issues

Well no metal shavings should be in the filter if there is there is,something is not right internally in your transmission. When there is larger metal shavings in your tranny filter your tranny is probabley gonna have to be rebuilt or replaced. You can try changing the fluid and filter and see if that helps but nore than likely you will need to change out tranny with a new or rebuilt one.

When warm 4 speed automatic will not engage in third or overdrive

This may or may not help, but here goes. Those transmissions tend to have a problem with the valve body seperator plate going bad. what it is, is the plate is a bit too soft and it has these check balls (looks like sling shot balls), that open and close. what might be happeneing, is when the tranny is cold the ball is small enough to let tranny fluid thru, but when it warms up the check ball increases in size, enough to lodge in the plate (since the hole in the plate has been enlarged due to the ball pounding it out), thus not letting tranny fluid enguage the correct upshift solenoid. Every tranny i have opened up has had the plate holes pounded out, and i've seen a few where the ball lodged it self in the hole.

Now i'm not sure if the check balls are for the shifting solenoids or not, but it could be. another thing is that there is a shitch or computer inside the transmission bolted to the valve body. when you take the pan off you can see it (i think you have to remove the filter, but i can't remember). anyway try replacing it first. i would just rebuild it tho. its not too hard, but you just have to be clean, and keep trac of the hundreds of little parts and how they go. there is some guy on ebay selling the rebuild kits, and step-by-step videos on how to rebuild specific trannys. he has one for the safari (all years). thats what i used when i rebuilt my tranny on my 95 safari. good luck

Car is shifting hard into second and sometimes third. It also does when downshifting. It seems to do this when the car is hot. Took it out after it cooled down and seemed to shift fine.

Been there, Done that!!! Bought a 2000 bonneville used..once the car warms up it starts shifting rough and down shifting rough. I drove it all the way to work and it ran like a champ till i started start, stop drivin in the street and the tranny warmed up. I retured it to the dealer and it is a solenoid in the tranny that pumps the fluid to detect the shift pattern. that is what they fed me anyways. they fixed it for free. it wasnt too cheap..i got the slip and it was around 1300 dollars. im no car expert by far but this is what happened to me! hope it gives you an idea
