BCM location 2012 camaro ss

It is located behind the dash , I believe behind the radio. I have a 2010 and the models haven't changed that much. Through the years the bcm has always been located somewhere between the glove box and console by the radio. DO NOT DISCONNECT IT WITHOUT KNOWING WHAT YOU ARE DOING. They are flashed with codes and data that are specific to that car. If you remove it without reprogramming, your car is dead in the water and only an authorized dearler can reflash it . Doing it any other way will kill it.

The radio cuts off and on and when it does the power windows won't work

You have a short in that circuit. I hate to be the barer of bad news but the only way to fix this problem is to either take the time to find the short which is most likely a bare wire touching metal on your car, or you can rewire your power to the radio and windows. I know that is not what you wanted to hear, but I hope it helps.

I have a 2001 SS Camaro. When I start my car and the stereo is on, most of the time the stereo cuts off/ turns off but the background lights are still lit and the windows will not work during the outage....

Yes there may be too many amperes being drawn from your battery. The radio will not work if there is not enough voltage and current. The same with the electric windows. Check the state of your battery, Your local mechanic can do this very quickly. Ask to look at the voltage reading when he checks the battery and the voltage should somewhere around 13.8 volts. If the battery is fine you will need to invest in an amplifier to run your stereo as this may be the root cause of your problems. Too many speakers draw alot of current and can play havoc with the cars electronics,

Good luck

Have to hit dash to get radio to on,replaced radio with another and still does same thing..very confusing..rft

If this Problem Has Fallowed you Even After Switching Radio's, Try Installing a NEW GROUND WIRE for it First, See If It Cure's it. IF NOT DO the SAME for the POWER SUPPLY TO Radio, One at a Time as there Should Be 2. #1 A KEY ON Power Supply and #2 a CONSTANT Power for Memory. Its Obvious that there Is A Incomplete or OPEN Circuit UNTIL you "HIT the Dash" The OBJECTIVE in My Instructions are to Isolate the OPEN Circuit,
Worse Case , I Would REWIRE ALL POWER and GROUND wires TO the Radio, This in Not very Difficult to do. I Hope I have shed some LIGHT on your Problem and Leads you to a Permanent FIX.
