Door locks lock and unlock like they have a mind of their own. They lock and unlock while going down the road or if I'm just sitting in my drive way. Any suggestions?

The locks are controlled by the body control module. You will have to see your dealer to have this problem corrected.

What causes doors to lock and unlock while driving ?

Hi there: Please check the door switchs, Ford use in certain models the interior lights to activated the lock doors after you close the door and lights go off. I'm suspecting that you have a damaged door switch with a loose cable or wire; this wire is making "ground contact" and activating the locks with the movement. With a pothole or vibration, you can hear the locks activation. Please check those switchs and let me know. I'll think about it to give you more ideas. Good lock.

Check door switch connection and operation.
If the door switch is part of the door lock mechanism, within the door itself, then remove door panel, disconnect the mechanism's electrical connector and re-check that the interior light no longer comes on with that door ajar. If it doesn't, then you likely have a faulty door lock mechanism, which you will have to replace.
This faulty switch will also have the affect on your random central locking function.

This is not likely connected to the engine performance issue.

I have just purchased a 2005 kia sedona from a mechanic. It's a nice car, but every time I'm driving down a road and step on the brake, the door locks unlock all the doors. The automatic door

it sounds like you may have a door switch going bad or in need to adjustment, the car thinks the door is ajar and then cycles the locks. the hard part may be to figure out which switch is making it act up.

2. Insert YOUR key in ignition, DO NOT TURN, then remove key.
3. Using the same lock/unlock button ON THE DRIVERS DOOR, slowly press lock-unlock in 5 cycles
4. Shut door.
5. Open door.
6. Using the same lock/unlock button ON THE DRIVERS DOOR, again slowly press lock-unlock in 5 cycles
7. With the door open insert your key into the ignition, turn to 'on' position (DON'T START), wait 5 seconds. Turn off and remove key.
8. Locks should cycle once (Car will lock and then unlock once by herself). If they don't cycle or they cycle more than once, do steps 1-7 over.
9. Now using the remote, push lock button, hold for one second, then release the button. The locks should cycle once. If not, start over and go slower.
10. Close the door.
11. Open the door.
12. Press the lock button on the remote. The locks should do a lock-unlock cycle.
13. Close the door
14. Press the lock button on the remote, the doors should lock.
15. Press unlock button and the doors should unlock.

Long beep to follow if successful.

1993 Nissan Maxima SE Car Alarm freaks out, and other electrical

Im no professional but i did recently buy a 93 maxima and i have the same security alarm problem and my powered locks dont work at all. im taking off the door panel today to take a look and see if the alarm sensor is loose or damaged, if it is, ill probably just disconnect it. one thing i have noticed though is that when i hit the lock or unlock button, i hear a faint click from the dashboard area which im assuming is the solenoid on a transistor which would mean that the buttons work but the transistor isnt delivering power. Semi-Solution for Locks: Listen for very quiet click when you lock/unlock doors, if you hear it, uve got major work to do, if you dont, then take apart the door and check the switch connections. Semi-Solution for Alarm: take off the door panel and disconnect the sensor.
