99 Alero 4 cyl. CEL flashing, cuts off while stopped or when slow down to turn corners. Recently started backfiring. Drives fine @40 mph. Went to auto zone and got #3 misfire code.

start with changing your plugs, wires and distributor cap and rotor. If it is the type of system that uses coil overs, then replace coil number three as well. A flashing CEL means that you have a misfire that is bad enough to damage your catalytic converter so get on the one before you have to pay bigger money

post what engine. some cars have diffr. motors.
the displacement,? 1.8L , 2.0, 2.5, etc. liters.
some have 1 coil some have 4 cop coils.
my guess, is the CEL comes on ,you attach a scan tool and
you get P0300 (random misfire, , ) right? and no other DTC codes.
and what are the driving symptoms.
300s have many causes, not just spark, not in the least.

I have a 1998 ford taurus the check engine light blinks and it doesnt want to pull up the hill.

When the CEL flashes you can damage the catalytic converters. Usually their are multiple misfires. The most likely cause is ignition, spark plugs, spark plug wires, ignition coils etc.

Fuel pump pressure on 97 GC jeep 4.0 is 45-50 psi, is this too high are low, I have changed wires, plugs, crank sensor, pickup coil, coil. I pulled the plugs and 1-5-3cylinders are running real rich. I...

Pressure shouldn't be higher than about 35psi...If it's higher check the pressure regulator and also make sure the return isn't obstructed. Yours should have the regulator mounted on top of the pump assembly and is combined with the filter.

Engine light flashing

It sounds like you have a misfire. Anytime a misfire is detected by the powertrain control module (PCM) it flashes the check engine light (CEL) on and off. Do not drive it this way because it won't take long to damage the catalytic converter. Have the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) read with a scan tool or "code reader" to see what DTC or DTCs are set. If it's a 4 cylinder, it will have a P0301 set for a cylinder # 1 misfire, a P0302 for a cyl # 2 misfire & so on. If the misfire is random (ocurring in multiple cylinders intermittently) it will have a P0300 set. Once you know which cylinder is misfiring you can check that cyl to see what the cause might be. It could be an ignition coil or spark plug failure. The # 1 cyl is always the one closest to the front of the eng or this car, the one closest to the passenger side fender.
