Dubble check your connections to the ignition .
This problem shouldn't have anythnig to do with the starter or solenoid except if the problem is the key switch that would affect it all .
But be smart test things before you disassamble its much easer to test a plug in connector pin then removeing the dash board .
My money is on the key switch good luck

Tyring to start my 2008 Super Duty. not cranking. Ive cleaned the cable ends still nothing.Ive not checked the voltage to the starter yet.

Try energising the starter solenoid manually with a jumper cable or similar. If the engine cranks the fault is ignition/starter switch, relay if there is one, fuse, wiring, connections or the immobiliser might not be disarming...

Starter motor relay ! Do you know how a starter system works ? Do you know how to do electrical testing , how to read a wiring diagram ? How to voltage drop test starter motor circuit Replacing parts without testing isn't very bright . What the he** is a ignition actuator, I know what an ignition switch is . ignition actuator , key lock cylinder . Is there a security light lit on the dash , Anti-theft .

I have 2006 dodge charger Rt. I brought new battery an starter an have alternator rebuilt an my car still wont crank

There should be power o the small terminal of the stater anytime the key is in the crank position. I would start with checking that. If there is no power you will need to trace that circuit back.

That wire gets power from the starter relay and the relay gets power from fuse 20 in the TIPM (underhood fuse box). The starter relay control side starts at the ignition switch. The pink with dark green wire should have power with the key in the crank position. That power goes to fuse #10 in the TIPM. it then goes to the starter relay. the starter relay is grounded by the PCM.

Give that a whirl.

2006 jeep liberty turn switch on and have power.starter and battery gd but wont turn over wont even click

the tests are all easy,
check fuses first, on all electric fails, starter ,charge and EFI are all electric systems.

super easy.
  1. jumper cable cranked with donor running car work?
  2. yes, battery is dead, or only discharged, charge it work?
  3. yes jumps but charge fails, bingo battery toast.
  4. so the jumper fails. in #1 , all that is a bad starting system. (not a part, the system)
  5. clean battery lugs. check fuses, and then hot wire the starter solenoid lug (dinky lug ,not huge one) (in park and wheels chocked keys off)
  6. ok that fails the starter is bad.
  7. ok that works. so the KEY line is dead. try starting in neutral yet?> bingo works, bad PRNDL switch on tranny side.
  8. the KEY line can be interrupted with some alarms, on a jeep it has Immobilizer that cuts fuel not cranking. so.... PRNDL switch bad or the key switch is self .
  9. Using any voltmeter to do the checks is a WIN. 12.6vdc is a charged battery is yours 12.6v rested/???????????

1999 crown vic wont start

Are you saying it won't crank, or won't start ?
If it does not crank, and you have replaced the battery and starter, the problem may be in the neutral safety switch.

Hi my 2006 Jeep Liberty won't start or turn over all keep hearing is this click sound when I turn the ignition , Plus I just replaced the battery .

Probably a starter. It sounds like the starter solenoid is working, but the starter motor is not energizing.

You could try this simple trick, but Im about 85% sure you have a bad starter.

Have a buddy help you push the vehicle in neutral for a short distance. When you get it moving at a walking pace, put the transmission in Drive, and let the vehicle come to a stop. You may hear a little clicking, but thats OK, it wont hurt anything. Put the transmission back in Park and try to start the engine again. Sometimes the starter gear gets stuck on the flywheel and it wont engage when you try to start the engine. This trick may move the flywheel a little so the starter can engage.

2006 Liberty: My 2006 jeep liberty dies while driving and won't ...

Most common causes of that kind of problem are the fuel pump and the crank sensor. Crank sensor should set a code, pump won't. Less frequent but worth mentioning is the ignition switch. Do some testing using a haynes or chilton manual as a guide,. All you need for that is a digital multi-meter.
Before testing anything, check that all the ground points under the hood are clean and secure. there are more than just the battery to the block...check all the smaller ones as well.

Replaced starter 2006 jeep liberty still won't turn over 3.7 engine

Check that you have power at the main post of the starter. Then check the solenoid activation circuit from the ignition switch.
