Question about Cars & Trucks

Why did my car just stop yesterday as I was making a turn?

I notice the battery had corrosion, so I just clean it and the car start. Just today the car would not start. It will crank, but will not turn over. Battery works fine. I did change my spark plugs platinum last week, but use the same spark plug wires. What else could it be?

If you mean cranks but no engine turn over...then you need a new solenoid pinion gear.
But I don't think you meant that.

If you can hear the starter spinning, but can not hear or see the engine rotating, then you'll need to replace the starter solenoid pinion gear. Or clean the pinion gear.

Why doesn't it turn over or start?

Take the car, or the battery, to a car parts store and have it tested. Usually the problem is a bad battery, unless it is a problem of corrosion on the terminals.
Understand that corrosion can not only prevent starting, it can prevent the battery from taking a charge to recharge it from the starting draw.
The terminals must be not only clean, but "metal-shiny-bright :" on the posts and the terminals themselves.
God bless your efforts.

Is it the battery or the starter?

First thing I would do is take off the battery cables and clean the inside of them to make sure there isn't any corrosion. Corrosion can cause a high resistance to the battery so it doesn't charge properly. Next I would put a voltmeter across the battery and make sure you are getting around 13 volts. If its less than that the battery may have a bad cell. Next thing I would check the ground cable that runs from the battery terminal to the body or frame of the car. If this cable is corroded where it contacts the car it can cause problems. As a last resort I would pay 75 bucks to replace the battery before getting into large cash such as replacing the starter.

Good morning, my radio and power windows stopped working, turned suv off, will not restart, no ignission, hope you can help

The symptoms you are describing are commonly due to failed battery. You may have not noticed any battery low voltage symptoms as this is a common issue with today's sealed type batteries used by all makes. Have the battery tested and also make sure the battery cable are clean and free of corrosion.

I have a 95 Ford Mustang. Yesterday I drove 20 miles and stopped at a gas station. I got gas and when i was done filling up i went back in my car and went to start it and it would not start. i had no power...

A big issue with older cars is battery cable corrosion. Start by checking the battery terminals for white or green fuzzy stuff. That is corrosion. You'll need to remove the cables and clean the ends with a wire brush. You'll also want to look at the copper inside the cable. If it has turned green and has corrosion in it, you'll want to replace the cable. I fixed my sisters Escort with this same issue by following the positive cable to it's first splice and I found corrosion there. I cleaned it all out and the car has been fine since.

My starter on my 2002 Suzuki XL 7 died today in my garage. At first I thought it was my battery...battery is fine. I was told it sounds like my starter since there is not juice or sound when I turn the key...

The first thing is to make sure the battery terminals and connectors are clean and free of corrosion so the starter can getr enough power to operate. To find your starter follow the large red wire that goes to the bottom side area of the engine. It will be held on by two bolts.
