Go back over what you did. Look for wires that you could have moved, check the plugs. You could have pulled a plug without knowing.

1998 SR5 O/D Off Light

Well the obvious answer is that the auto transmission has a problem. The normal diagnosis would be the solenoid that engages 4th gear is faulty and the vehicle stays in 3rd gear. So you have to know the diagnostic code that comes up in this condition.

But just as a precaution first check if the engine coolant is at right levels and thermostat is functional. Sometimes fault in engine cooling system can also lead to the O/D light (over drive) coming up.

To get some details on how to check the diagnostic code you can refer to
http://personal.utulsa.edu/~nathan-buchanan/93fsm/autotrans/31diagnosi.pdf

If you are unsure it is best to take the vehicle to an auto transmission specialist (not the Toyota service place) and get it checked. By the way should not be anything to worry telling your dad. It is nothing that you could have caused. Simple vehicle mechanical issues.

08 vw passat shakes when starting and tps light on

TPS = Throttle Position Sensor
TPMS = Tire Pressure Monitoring System

The TPS is located on the Engine and is part of the Intake System
The TPMS is located INSIDE the Wheel. If you changed the RIM or the Sensor that is normally located inside the wheel is missing, it would cause this. The Weird Noise? Is that an Out of Balance Tire?

We need more information to assist you.

I have a 2003 Toyota 4runner SR5. The engine warning light came on this morning. What's advice would you offer? Thank you

Hi!
The Engine management light comes on for Faults and Service intervals.
I presume from your brief description the vehicle hasn't changed in performance? if this is so then it looks like time for a service.
If however there is a difference or you are experiencing problems a Visit to a competant engineer is important particulary one who knows about OBD fault codes and resetting.
Good Luck!
I hope this helps,
