Which fuse is for the instrument panel back lighting?

Does the radio play ? Are any other back lighting components not lighting ? Does the HVAC control panel light up ? You probably need new radio !
The second interior lighting group includes lamps which may be dimmed. This group may use a combination of vacuum fluorescent (VF) illumination, LED illumination and incandescent lamps.
When the ignition switch is turned to the RUN position, the radio VF display turns ON at maximum brightness. When the park lamps are ON, all incandescent and LED back lighting turn ON at the dimming level indicated by the instrument panel (I/P) dimmer switch. At the same time all VF displays dim to match the indicated dimming level. The panel dimmer switch potentiometer is an input to the body control module (BCM). When the driver selects a dimming setting by moving the I/P dimming switch potentiometer, all incandescent back lighting lamps are provided with a specific voltage. When the I/P dimmer switch is moved from MIN to MAX, all VF displays, as well as all incandescent back lighting respond from minimum intensity to maximum brightness in response to the I/P dimmer switch.

I have a 2005 Buick Rainier 6 cyl awd. I have an issue that doesn't happen all the time and the dealer can not find the problem I've taken it in several times. While driving my dim lights will turn...

In the fuse box under the hood, swap relay #45 with relay #46. Both are the same relay, one for the lowbeams and the other is for the fan. You should have lights now. Clean the contacts on the relay and in the fuse box very well. Very common problem, suprised the dealer didn't catch this.

So, next time this happens, swap them out to see if the lights go back on. I keep a new relay in my glovebox just in case. But since cleaning mine 2years ago, hasn't happend again.

Try turning the headlight control knob clockwise so that the arrow is pointing up. You may only have it in daytime lights mode and not actually in headlight mode.

It's blowing fuses and lights are dimming while idling

Need more information than what you have given me Bud will help with what info i have got.
For the fuses keep blowing and the lights going dim when going it sounds like..
Turn on Parking lights ,if still blows fuses then parking or tail lights shorting out,(remove all light plugs and re fit 1 at a time till the falt comes back that is the problem one),,if ok turn on dip beam and do the same as before,,then of ok do the same ot main beam,, but the part is when the fuse blowes and it goes dim,, that could be the dead short to earth and so it could also be Alternator problem which should be charging at 13.5 max volts when running,so get it checked out....

Dim interior lights, power locks wont work......

Try looking at your battery. Check the cables to make sure they are tight and clean. Brush the corrosion off with a wire brush. Now, if you have a wiring schematic, find the ground for the interior lights and clean it up too. Oh, put vasoline on it, and the battery cables, to keep them corrosion free. Check the other grounds in the car cabin too.

2004 Cavalier Day/dim lights not working

I finally got mine fixed!! It was the crossover wires between headlights(the wires that run in front of the radiator). One wire was torn into. Spliced them and taped back together. Hope this works for you!! I also used something called wire caps that help hold the spliced wires together. I found this solution on yahoo.com search engine where someone else had suggested this. My only problem was no dim lights, but all the other lights worked fine.

My blower fan will run with the key out, but will turn of with the fan switch. I changed the A/C relay under the dash and it seem to fix the problem.
