Coolant leaking under neath 96 acura integra toward middle of engine, change thermostat, switch, and flush out system, water pump still working fan comes on, what else could it be
Re: Coolant leaking under neath 96 acura integra toward...
Probably a rusted out welsh plug in the block or head
pressure test the cooling system and watch for the spray to determine exactly where it is coming from

"rule out" questions - is coolant level OK? Any leaks, especially around the water pump? Has the system ever been flushed. out? If this is the original radiator, it could be clogged. Is the thermostat installed correctly with spring end toward the engine?
yes. the impellor on these engines have a tendency to come off the water pump.First you can see if the pump is working by removing a heater hose then have someone to start the engine. if the water sprays a good, solid stream out then the water pump is good. if the water just barely comes out or not at all then the pump is weak or "bad".
CHANGE THERMOSTAT AND BLEED COOLANT SYSTEM. TO SEE IF STILL OVERHEAT.IF YES YOU COULD HAVE A BAD WATER PUMP.CLOGGED RADIATOR.CLOGGED ENGINE BLOCK.LEAKING HEAD GASKET.TAKE IT TO RADIATOR SHOP SO THEY CAN PRESSURIZED COOLANT SYSTEM TO SEE IF ITS A HEAD GASKET LEAKING.ALSO MAKE SURE YOUR COOLING FAN IS WORKING. COOLING FAN SHOULD TURN ON WHEN YOU TURN ON AC.AND ALSO COME ON DURING A LONG IDLE WHEN COOLANT TEMP REACHES 190 - 220 DEGREES. FAHRENHEIT.
The coolant temp sensor tells the computer tempurature of engine at all times. It tells the coolant fans to come on,and also very important, when to cut off.If the fans don`t go off by them selfs, then temp is not going down. Now this is if the ac is off, cooling fans come on any time ac is turned on,so check for fans coming on and off with ac off.A bad coolant sensor would cause the fans not ot come on,but not to cut off nessasaralyCoolant systems must be bled of air trapped in systemfor the engine to be cooled .If air is in the system, the coolant won`t flow correctly.
This could happen if your fan is indeed weak. To test disconnect the thermostat of the radiator by removing the terminals near the radiator hose towards the engine. You should see the fan run at its highest speed, then you can check if your fan has weakened.
Almost sounds like the same symptons as my van. Turns out the guage was not the problem. The van was in fact running hot because the electric radiator fans were not kicking in when the engine was hot. I replaced the relay switches for the fans. There are two of these in the fuse panel under the hood. There has been no problem with overheating since
