All running boards are mounted to the underside of the vehicle on newer models. Remove the bolts that hold the running board brackets to the underside of the vehicle and they should come right off. On older vehicles there may be bolts in the wheel wells holding them also

How to remove power running boards on a 2007 cadillac escalade esv

You are better off Getting some Mechanic Wire and removing the 8 bolts holding the Front of the Running Boards and having it repaired or replaced. I would recommend not using the Running board on that side, you can do that by Climbing under and disconnecting the Plug to the Motor. I would also put a BAG over the 2 connectors and protect them. You can even put a dielectric to keep the Water Out.... Order the Bracket and install the new one at the same time... SAve you time and Effort.

Retractable running board not functioning

Remove the running board and pry down the bracket holding the board to the motor. (I used a crow-bar) This will rotate the mechanism slightly and the board should work again. I did this a few months ago because the board on the driver side stopped moving. It has been fine ever since.

Not sure where fuel filter is

it is located under the driver running board...,just raise the car and remove the lower batwing cover..you will see two ten mm bolts on both sides of the running board, then you will see 2 eight mm bolts, then three 10 mm bolts near the front. ..once its removed you will see the fuel suply line running upward where the drivers foot rest incline is and the fuel filter is just past the incline..make sure you remove the fuse in the trunk for the pump to depressurize it...good luck and let me know if you need any more help.

My Mercedes ML 430 drivers electric window has stopped working Im tolld that it is elecrical board under the control buttons needs replacing how do I do this

It can be the board or it can be the switch or the mechanical regulator in the door. The switches are all connected in the center console. First remove the gear surround plastic, it should just pull out. Remove the front cubby area liner so as not to lose anything as you remove the wood trim. Remove the ash tray. Wood trim should pull out and you should see the switch assembly. Try removing that switch from that winow and switching it with another switch on the board and try. Sometimes the switch itself goes bad. If not replace the board. Runs around 150 dollars from the dealer. If that doesnt work the regulator is accessed from removing the door panel.

Good luck.

I have replaced wiper motor 4 times last three years, wipers come on by them self run minute or 2 shut off, and it seems to start after I use touchless car wash. After I replace motor wipers work fine for...

This is really an easy fix. The wiper motor assembly is on the firewall, just right of center. The wiring can be unplugged before the circuit board is removed, or afterward. I found it easier to unplug it after the circuit board was removed. There is a flat cover that is held on with three torx screws (T20). Remove those screws and remove the cover.
The circuit board will now be visible. Remove the circuit board by grasping the wiring connecter and gently pulling it towards the front of the vehicle. When the circuit board has fallen free, unplug it from the wiring harness if you haven't already done so.
The solder joints that connect the wiring socket to the board go bad on the board.  Just resoldered those and re-installed the circuit board.

Good luck and hope this helps. keep me posted, be glad to help.

Can't remove bolts to mount running boards

Do u or any friends have an air compressor? If u can borrow an impact gun the bolts will come right off. I've had an air compressor for years, purchased an impact driver, can't believe how easy it removes bolts I can't budge. U may be able to rent a portable compressor and impact gun. Hope this helps, good luck, and let me know how it comes out.

Power running board failure

This is not really solving the problem, but my dealer told me that they could unplug the harness to keep the running boards in the down postion. The running boards have to be in the down position to make this happen.
