the easist way is to loosen the alternator slide the alternator down then slide the belt where it should go then pull up on the alternator again and bolt up Please rate my response thank you very much

If it's a cheap aftermarket alarm, check for a red wire coming off the hot side of your battery with an inline fuse. If it's not, try to locate the alarm "computer" under the driver's side dash or nearby your fuse panel. You'll find a black box with a wiring diagram glued to the side, normally strapped to a wiring harness or other fixed element. If this is the type of alarm you have, you'll need to trace each wire coming from the alarm computer and unclip each fastener that's clipped to your vehicle's factory wiring. The trouble with these types of alarms is that they tie in and get power from a number of sources (stereo, interior lights, etc.), so you'll have to trace and unclip 8-12 wires to fully disengage. The Quest has a non interference engine meaning that should the belt break the engine would just die without breaking anything. Nissan recommends 105K for changing but that depends on the way the vehicle was driven (driving habits), road conditions etc. If driving on roads for e.g. that are hilly, it labors the engine more thus shortens the lifespan of the belt according to mfg.

Best to remove the front passenger side wheel. Then snap out the clips that are holding the plastic cover towards the front. Now it will expose the belt area. Loosen the locking nut of the tensioner(idler) pulley located to the right of the Crankshaft Pulley. Crankshaft pulley is the one that handles both belts (alternator and the power sterring pump). Right to that next to it, upwards is the idler pulley. You will find the alternator pulley to the right of that further up. Open the hood of the van and locate the adjusting nut behind the alternator on the idler pulley from top and loosen that as well. Once both these are loosened, belt will loosen and will be easy to remove. Now replace it with the new belt the same way it was wrapped. Go over the crankshaft pulley; under the A/C compressor pulley; over the alternator pulley; under the idler pulley. tighten the adjusting nut from the top through the hood until the play on the belt (when pressed in) is less than 1 inch. Now lock the tensioner pulley by tightening the locking nut. Start and run the car for 15 mins to see if everything is ok.
