Radio not shutting off when ignition off and doors opened 2005 Avalanche how do you troubleshoot

same on my 2004 Silverado... When exiting the vehicle I've found that I have to lift the exit handle all the way up to engage the switch behind the door panel. After doing this a few times the switch seemed to start working... (And radio would turn off...) If it does it again I'll be removing the door panel and cleaning or replacing a switch...

1995 ls 400 radio doesnt play after car starts. will a after market radio play?

If the radio plays with the engine off but not with the engine on then it's an electrical problem that a new radio probably won't solve.

Hi Maury, Seems you have a number of different problems at the same time. The grinding sound when pushing the clutch pedal would seem to be the clutch thrust release bearing, which is located inside the bell housing and requires the removal of the gearbox to replace. The warning lights should come on each time the ignition is switched on and then they should extinguish after a few seconds. The illumination of these lights is a fail safe system to show that all warning systems are active. The radio will go off during the period when the starter is engaged as a relay shunts all power to the starter during that procedure. The starter motor uses more power from the battery than any other system. The manufactures have taken this into consideration when designing the circuitry and decided as many others have, to adopt the operation. If when starting from cold this does not happen and the radio plays, it is indicating either excessive drawing of power by the starter and may also be the cause of the grinding noise you experience? My 2000 lincoln ls doesn't crank or click when trying to start it, it does nothing? all the lights work, radio, signals and horn, I checked the fuel relay and the starter relay and the ignition fu

Sounds like an Ignition Module or similar device. Does it have an alarm? Turn the key to ON - not start - and put into Drive and then back into Park. It may be the shifter isn't fully engaged. Also, w/your FOOT ON THE BRAKE shift to Neutral and try to start it.

Sounds like a dead battery to me. You will probably need a new battery, a new alternator, or both.

1990 lexus ls 400 security system went off now vehicle will not start. Keys open door turn alarm off but starter will not engage. What can I do?

Your alarm is keep your system from starting. When the alarm system fails, you have 1 of two choices, if it is a after market alarm then just disconnect the alarm, if it is a manufacture alarm then you will need to take it to a company to have then replace the alarm or disconnect it. Doing so yourself you can hurt your vehicle more then help it
