Define spit spot, an airflow sensor wont leave any wet marks on anything.

SOURCE: 2001 mustang with code P0104 the scanner says that EGR flow

P0104 code is MAF or VAF. This can cause surging and rough running. If you disconnect the maf and find that it runs a little better, you can be sure that a maf replacement is in order. Double check the code by erasing it then roadtest. If code comes back then it is a hard code.

SOURCE: I have a 2001 mustang with a 3.8l I have a trouble code P0104

It is the DPFE sensor with out this your rpms will continue surge. Alot of people make the mistake of just replacing the EGR valve instead of the DPFE sensor which measures exhaust prssure going through the EGR vavle.

SOURCE: Bought new mass air flow sensor, need to know where it is located

Anywhere along the intake tube to the throttle body. Look for cables and harnesses around the intake.

SOURCE: 000 NISSAN Xterra -- after warming up, loses RPM by 500-1000..... have replaced ignition wires and distributor, checked mass air flow sensor and OK.....

I had a problem on my Nissan Xterra 2000. Symptons sound similar. In my case, it ran fine for a while and then suddenly the engine starts to stumble and lose output. At one point it did not even have enough HP to move. Irregular idling too. Thought it was water in my fuel. Bought water remover from the store and added to gas tank. Problem did not go away. Instead, "Service Engine Soon" light came on. Had to have it towed to the dealer as there was no way the engine could keep up with traffic. Dealer replaced the "Crank Position Sensor" today. Parts $33.00, Labor: $300 (about 3 hrs worth of work). Seems to work fine now but I will wait and see. Dealer also stated that Distributor bearing appears to be noisy and will need to be replaced sooner or later. I will wait for it to go before I fix that.

I recently changed the fuel rail pressure sensor, spark plugs and wires on my 2001 mustang 3.8l engine. My question is " Do I need to reset my computer and if so how exactly do I do this?

You never diagnosed the codes using the proper reference
material, to find the real issues

Codes have nothing to do with changing parts

Codes don't tell you what is wrong or to change a part

You use flow charts & factory manuals to diagnose the
system with the fault, then component test

Need experience & the proper test equipment to work
on your car

rap on to the mass air flow sensor and see if the idle chages. if it does its bad. Use a block of wood such as a foot long 2x4 it works great for this test

Check engine light is on and now the truck is spitting and sput

i would take it back. they should cover it. sounds like mass air flow sensor. if it was barelly detailed it water might of seeped into the intake thus sucking small amount of water which then causes sputtering and a little lack of power.
