The fuel pump has been replaced along with a fuel filter, I am getting spark and the car started with starter fluid I see fuses under the hood but they are listed with fuel pump being just a 20 fuse not relay only relays are for ac horn and something else that does not pertain to the fuel pump

The fuel pump relay is in the powerbox on the drivers side of the car. It can be in a relay trio which is hung behind the powerbox and has a slide out access to the relays inside or it can be inside the big powerbox. Usually the cover has the relay name and position embedded in the plastic.

The fuel pump relay is under the hood in the MAXI fuse box, it is a black box with a huge wiring bundle comming out of it.

The fuel pump is in the fuel tank.Sit in the car.....turn on the ignition switch to run.....listen very closely to the rear of the car...or have someone kneel down by the back should hear a "prime cycle"......the pump running for 2 or 3 seconds if the key was off for 15 seconds before trying this.If you hear silence you most likely need a fuel pump. Before pulling the tank down....check for power on the gray wire at the fuel tank connector just ahead of the rear axle under the car.Check for power with a test light that will last for 2 to 3 seconds as you turn on the key to run.Power means you really most likely need a pump.No power means you may need a fuse or a fuel pump relay.

sounds alot the the pcm it controls the fuel pump and ign system but the anti theft would keep it from starting because the key has a transponder in it programmed for that vehicle and that would kill all ign if triggered

SOURCE: I went out to warm

First unhook the battery for about a half hour to reset the computer.
does that have anti-theft on it.
a remote starter ?
second either swap the relays for the starter and fuel pump or replace them outright.
when you bypass the relay to get it to crank... will it start ?

if that radio is of the anti-theft variety make sure you know the code and how to enter it

Car won't start or even crank at all.

Check the current draw on the starter when it is cranking the car. If it is excessive it mans the starter is dragging the field with the armature because the bearings are worn out. If the current is not excessive to the starter then it is likely a short in the power cable circuit somewhere.

99 marquis got spark got fuel starts with starting fluid relay seems fine switched

Can you hear the fuel pump come on when you turn the key on? First thing I would check is the fuel cut off switch located in the trunk on the driverside quarter panel.Sometimes this will cut off the fuel if the vehicle is jolted from a pot hole or collision. It's a little black box which may have either a red or black button on it.

No fuel

Working on my 93 Lincoln, I noticed that it has 2 relays on the drivers side. They are side by side. I believe that one is the fuel pump relay and the other is an ignition relay. This is basically the same as on my 1983 Grand Marquis. I was told to replace the relays as a pair. They are square in shape. Look on the fender wall and you should see them.
