Change the oil on a 2000 Dodge Caravan

Jack up pass side.Put cardboard, BIG piece under engine just in case. Using a pan to drain the oil in put under oil pan drain plug. Remove drain plug with socket wrench. Let drain 5 min. Check the gasket on the drain plug, if bad replace with new gasket .99 cents to replace gasket only on plug. Put plug back in DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN the plug. Slide drain pan with drained oil to the front to remove oil filter. Using a filter wrench remove oil filter. Let drain. When installing new filter put a little new engine oil on the rubber gasket on the filter with your finger. Screw filter back on tighten with filter wrench. Fill van with oil from front valve cover opening.

Bad oil leak around oil pan, does somebody have an engine diagram for the Dodge 3.0 in this Grand Caravan?

This is what I found on my 1998 with a 3.0 motor Most likely you have a rusted pan with a hole on the passenger side of pan, clean the oil pan real good and inspect it real good and check for small leaks,
Also the transmission pan is also known to rust through on the left side top and bottom, Salt and brime plays heck on all pans and brake lines
